Hey Guest_User ,
I didn't mean to stir up bad memories !! You folks went through a lot , I realized even more when I watched
that News-cast.... I came too a much better understanding of the Devastation that went on there....

I was just looking at a google map when your post came in , I am glad you were spared , but it still hurts....
When I lived in Barrie On. 60 miles north of Toronto a twister went through... I came through what looked
like a war zone that night , big trees down everywhere no lights or people just the Military...
My son and I rode around on our 10 speeds 6:00 am the next morning and saw friends houses , Marinas completely gone...The school just got out a half hour before it was destroyed.... We missed
that by 1/4 mile that was probably 30 yrs. ago , I still remember the feelings and the sights vividly , Today !!

It's " Mothers Day " Make it a Great one !! ttyl........

Hey Guest_User ,

Being a " LOOTER " after something like this is being absolutely EVIL !!
You don't want to know how I would remedy Evil Looter's !!

earlier today, installed my back up Depth gauge. The new hawkeye unit. Epoxied in the transducer opposite of the Hummingbird transducer. (in the hull)
not sure what failed on the Hummingbird, the unit itself or the transducer. There is no real way to test it, and with it already mounted I can not hear the click click click when energized. so we`ll give this other unit a try.;)

Was your Humminbird a HDR650, or a 610?
What transducer did you use?
I think I might have the same one installed on my boat. Hopefully it doesn't decide to crap out on me.
By the way, nice shakedown run!!

Shouldn't have sold that bimini, LOL

Not sure if I'm coming down the shore this weekend or not or just going to the river(Burlington/Bristol area). One way or the other my azz is getting wet Saturday, Sunday and possibly Monday. I'm looking to log some serious hours if possible.

I'm not big on the holiday riding either but I got a hot nut to get out, if rope light was legal to use a navigational lighting I would ride at night.

Hopefully the O.C. water ways are good. The boat is still covered, so it's the skis only for right now.

FYI Guest_User,
BoatUS is popular down here in the South. My company uses them when we load a barge as spotter boats.
The guy that has the local franchise is a retired fireman that lives about 2 miles from me.

trying to relocate south is hard, trying to relocate period is hard... but the search continues...

Stop searching and move to my area... I need some adult supervision so I'll stop breaking things. :)

:lols: how`s the pay? :lols:

finding work is the challenge...:banghead:

Depends on what you do.
Helping me pays really well, assuming you like sarcasm with a dash of witty (and sometimes annoying) banter.

Well...You and rjcress could move to my area. There is 4 lakes less that and hour from my house...wait I forgot one...5 lakes less than an hour from my house, as well as the Tennessee River.
You can launch you boat in the river and cruise all the way to The Gulf. The only problem is getting employed. Playing at the lakes/river doesn't pay much, but it could be a lot of fun. :)

Crap...I forgot the Hiawassee river.

Meant to ask earlier, is Your new depth finder working?

Well, I`m diversified from 30+ years of Glazing construction, construction management, automotive Domestic/foreign repair, Performance work, truck lifts, tractors, and grounds/farm equip. besides boats and ski`s. just for starters.

hahahhahah, the job sites/shops are a "anything goes" zone. I`m well versed in witty humorous sarcasm`s... :lols:

I know that my marina has given up on renting PWCs since they don't have anyone good to maintain them, but I believe they are open to subbing that part of the business out. I thought about doing it last year, but opted against it because we like the school the kids are in and don't want to move them. Could be an interesting "side business" over the summer while the "real" job search continues.

Property on the lake is stupid expensive, but non-waterfront property close to the lake is pretty reasonable.
Could be an interesting option to explore.

In the area around my home... the "research triangle park" and "triad" areas, the job market has stayed pretty strong. Construction, auto work, etc... all have better demand than much of the country.
