i bought a gti with a beat motor but everything else is in great condition. Before i pulled the motor i got power from putting the key on. Since replacing the motor myself i cant seem to get power from the key. i have everything put back together as it was when i took it apart. i can jump the starter solenoid to get the motor to turn over and thats it. I checked all fuses and none of them are blown. anyone have any sugestions? thanks

You need to add you seadoo model and year to you avatar. You need to clean the dess lanyard post and cap. You need to get 2 beeps telling you it's ready to start.

I already tried that. I still have no beeps even with another dess key. I'm using a 720 motor out of a 95 xp. Could the stator in that be dif then the 97?

No beeps

I bought my first Sea-Doo last weekend, with NO BEEPS. It is a 2004 GTI with the 717, 85hp, 761cc, two-stroke motor. RISKY PURCHASE, but CHEAP! It turned out to be a $5.00 diode that I had to solder into the MPEM. There are people in this forum that perform this service, but I was catching such greif from my family that I couldn't spend any more money. So I ordered the diode, spent two hours carefully and tediously digging away at the rubber on the MPEM until I found the fried diode, soldered in a new one and got the beeps. I sprayed several coats of Liquid Tape (bought at Wal-Mart) over the exposed circuits to seal them back up. There were two more little problems, a bad start switch and a loose connection in the rear box, but I had the ski on the water today. Awesome! Runs great, and can bring a wakeboarder up with two adults still on the ski.

I am NOT an expert, but no beeps was the same problem I had. The problem occurs when you jump start the ski, it fries a diode and pops the 5 amp fuse.

Yes that happened with my other ski, but this one isn't blowing any fuses at all that's what I don't understand

Is it possible I fried the rectifier? It has the same color wires as the plug infront of the motor. I'm stumped

same stators....you need to recheck your connections/wires, stud.

Make sure, the red wire at relay is on same post as the red cable from battery.
