Hello, I recently flipped and seized my engine in salt water. After ALOT of PB blast I finally got the drive shaft turning again and it finally turned over (A TON of smoke came out).

Now, Only way for it to start is by spraying a bunch of starter fluid. Only way for it to STAY on is to press the throttle repeatedly. Some black/gray sludge came out of the left side wall in the back near the prop. It’s stopped now that I’ve started the ski a few times but I can’t get it to stay on long enough to even run water through it. Any idea what’s going on?

100% sure your engine is ruined.
If it filled with water then seized it's done.
If you keep trying to run it you are just going to damage more.
Check compression

I feel like jetskis flip in oceans all the time and seize up (has happened to a few "ocean/riverrats" I've met. The solution is usually a TON of wd40, pbblast or Marvel mystery oil combined with manual turning of the drive shaft until it gets unseized. I don't think jetskis would be as popular if the engine is "ruined" following just 1 flip- compression is good. I just changed the sparx before it finally started but i'm starting to think maybe I should replace them already since they're probably fogged up after that initial start.

You said the engine seized?

If you just got water in the engine and pulled the sparkplugs and pumped all the water out and got it running immediately then yes as long as you run them hard and get the water burned out they are typically fine.

How long has it been sitting with salt water in it?

Stop using starting fluid as it is removing any lubrication there might be.

Put in new sparkplugs and keep it running to blow out any additional water then get it out and run it hard, not on the hose.
