Honestly, Ive had a 99 run away because of a blown seal. I'd bet all the water pushed a seal out. Just an assumption of course. but anything that runs away with no load sound like an air leak.

I've picked up a 99 GTX RFI and the PO melted the resonators. I've searched a few threads and most pictures are gone, but it seems everyone uses the thruhull and the hose from a 98 XPL. Is that correct? It seems like it'd work but am looking for a definite answer since it seems you can't buy...

If its like my 99...you may have a circlip under your carbon seal on the driveshaft.....you'll need to push the collar on the driveshaft back and remove the clip. I had to do it this way because my impeller was seized to the drivshaft.
