I tell you, that was the only Seadoo I regretted selling but for long trips/cruises it was pretty tough on the body in a squall or waves. I transitioned to a 3 seater for comfort and gave up the fun. Sucks getting older and feeling bumps and bruises!
I think you need to try a 98-2004 XP. Just as fast but much smoother in rough water.
How about a couple "Hi End" Kawasakis

Is it just me or do prices seem insane in my area??

For an actual RXX with new parts ready to go back together the price sounds fair to me. If it was close I would strongly consider it for myself.
I would not be using the WSM pistons and SBT crank though. I doubt either would survive very long in the RXX.
I have a good running 97 spx with a bilge pump and nujet prop. Good wear ring and tuned properly. I'll take 900 without trailer. 1200 with single trailer prefect for this size ski. Only issue is the oil reservoir leaked over winter, but I plan on fixing that.
It is clean but without a trailer I'd say $1500 tops. That's tax included and with a water test that leaves you with a permanent smile. I can't see if the grey fuel lines have been changed or if it got a wear ring, etc.
