I just rebuilt Carbs on the 951, had to have the seadoo dealership tighten the rear nut on the exhaust cone ( i could not get a tool over it $10 to tighten)

I took it to the lake got into the water started great first crank. Started across the lake hit 7000 plus running great then bogged down.... then would only hit about 3000 rpms and sounded very sad. I did not press the issue, sounded like it was not getting the fuel needed again. I replaced all the lines with new fuel line, but could not get the fuel selector out and had just had it with working on this thing in the heat.

it ran great all the way back to the dock 1500 rpms, in fact I had to stop and restart the motor to get it into position for the trailer load up. Got it back to the camp site and went to crank it and it would not turn over, I could hear the starter engage but no crank so I was thinking that maybe the motor was locked up, only 40 hours on the rebuild... Got it home and tryed to crank again and it turned 2 times. Question if the motor is locked up would it crank 2 times? Battery is full and codes sound normal.

This ski is in great shape, the hull is very nice....Maybe selling it along with the 94 SP. Regardless I will be taking it to the dealer tomorrow to see what they can do to fix it. Help if you can..thx

Take *plugs out and see if it cranks better, you may have water in it. Check the compression too, post results. When you rebuilt the carbs did you leak-down test them after you re-assembled them?

I took the plugs out and it was full but not with water but fuel. After the carb rebuild I used my fingers to adjust the low speed controls and did not get them all the way clock wise before the 1 1/4 turn back. Today I used a screw driver the reset them, they were only about 4-5 turns out. I put the plugs back in and it started after just a few cranks, ran good on the trailer but still wants to run away after about 30 secs at 2800 rpms. Now that I know the motor is ok I think I will leave it with the seadoo dealer tomorrow and let him find the apparent air leak. Any thoughts?
