I have a 91 GTI that will not start. I replaced the fuel filter in it and it gets fuel to the filter. I tried spraying starter fluid in the air filter and it starts up on its first try. So I dont think it has a bad carb. Its almost like its not getting fuel from the fuel filter to the engine. Any help!

Replacing the fuel lines? I dont think that the fuel lines would be it, I could be wrong

Never use starter fluid to run your seadoo. There is no lubrication in starter fluid and it could seize up. It sounds like the carbs need a cleaning and the internal filters need cleaning or replacing.

if, throw'n fluid into carb/plug holes will kick it over, then you know you got spark. Re-check the fuel lines/routing..think you got'm backwards. The line from inline filter goes to bottom of carb fitting, return line, top fitting.

Should I need to put new gray fuel lines in? these are the original lines.

Also cleaning the carb, cant you use just a carb cleaner or do I need to pull it and rebuild it/clean it?

Get rid of the grey fuel lines.
Replace with fuel line from Autozone along with about a dozen clamps.
Pull the carbs, disassemble carefully and clean thoroughly with carb cleaner.
Clean or replace the internal fuel filters. Sounds like they are clogged.

Hope this helps

i get asked this question all the time , no you can not clean the carbs by spraying carb cleaner in them , lol . i bet your internal filter on the carb is stopped up bad . remove the carb or carbs , if its your first time then lable the f-lines locations . your filters are going to be on the sid eof the carb with the square plate , they are black and inserted and about the size of a pencil eraser . remove and chunk them . go ahead a tear down the rest of the carb and if they have never been into then go purchase and impact driver as you will need it to remove most of the screws . count your mixture screws by counting the number of turns in then go ahead and take them out , also if you dont replace the grey lines the carbs will stop up again and again real quick untill you do . email me if you need one on one assistance while your doing it. or you can ship to me and i can clean and rebuild them . boatmonkey82@yahoo

or ship to me, i'm in san berdo county, ca... timmyboy76@hotmail.com

Being a 91, locate the 4-13mm hex bolts, hold'n the rv cover to case, and remove those. Easiest way to the carb/s removal.

Listen to what jhesse said I have the same problem and it makes sense!

I haven't had a chance to do this, been busy but I'm 100% sure that it will fix the problem, it's a known and common problem, after jhjesse told me the same I had a chance to research the problem and it's a widespread problem and can be fixed with a day or two of working on it.

What jhesse say doesn't just make sense, it's the most common problem on the seadoo forum. That problem has been the most ask for repair of almost any repair here, and I have seen just about every problem asked on the seadoo forum.
