Hey I was just wondering how to winterize my sea doo without being able yo start the engine? Last year i remebered I needed to turn over to doo and have it running then fog out the spark plug spots until it died. This year I wont be able to turn it on so I was just wondering how yo get in all those areas without it spinning.

and for the anti freeze, I can just funnel it in thru the one starting hose ubtil it comes out the back and it should be good?

this is only my second time doing it so im not too knowledgeable but im pretty sure I rememeber how to do it, just the fogging is gonna be an issue

drill pump and some antifreeze. You need to force the water out of the system, not dilute it with gravity. I use the flush port and tilt the ski up nose high on the trailer. Pump antifreeze until you get about half a gallon in there, or once the antifreeze comes out the exhaust.

OR remove the lower cooling hose on the 951, extend the line above the engine, and pour about half a quart into it, then some into the exhaust VIA the large cooling hose at the bottom of the pipe, then a little in the waterbox by removing the large 2'' hose. I may suggest this if you cant rotate the engine. Most of the time this works, but its not worth risking filling up your motor with water/antifreeze

Actually...its just fine to dilute...thats kind of the point of RV antifreeze.

I go one step further and "mix" it by pulling the hose that connects to the low point on the motor and blow into it. That makes dang sure water gets mixed up good in the antifreeze and its 100% protected.

Before I pour the antifreeze in I hook my sucker/blower to the low point hose and suck the water out of the motor too...when you do customer machines you cover your ass every which way you can.

Ok thanks guys. I lost my net at home so I had ti resort to my phone and its not working so well.

And for the fogging I refer to the link ?

To fog the motor remove both spark plugs, spray fogging oil into the cylinders, replace the spark plugs, spray fogging oil into the carbs. then turn the motor over by shorting the solenoid, for 5-10 seconds.

So I poured in and blew out all the water I could from the little T connection both ways.. one into the engine, one to the water intake I think and then there was a sold grey tube the went down towards the back of it. Put in antifreeze in the 2 bigger tubes but it just came out the ports on the back.

The 2 tubes on the top of the exhaust are put on with tie wraps so i dont wanna cut them off. is there any other way in to the exhaust that im missing?

And for the carbs, I popped the top off the 2 ontop of the engine, and it just looked like i should spray around the outside of it?
is this right?

And I sprayed in the 2 spark plug holes, cranked it, sprayed again, did this a few times.

thats a sweeeet write up
but i cant turn my engine on, i tried charging the battery but i think its trash, cause i cant even get a beep from the key, and jumping the solenoid doesnt work either, so i was just wondering about the carbs and the engine, i did all the antifreeze but i only fogged inside the spark plugs and couldnt turn it over or anyuthing

Thanks!:D

With the spark plugs out, just go heavy on the cylinders with fogging oil and turn the PTO over by hand. Should be good, not ideal but it's better than nothing at all. Or if you really want to pull the flame arrestor and just hold the throttle open and use a flash light and a mirror to see if the rotary valve is blocking the port and just spray through the carb. Repeat for the other carb.

hey, so i went out today to buy a new battery for it just so that i could hopefully be able to just crank it over a couple times and spray so i can get it everywhere, i chilled at a buddies house for about 3 hours leavingit on his charger on full 12v charge, i checked it with a multimeter and it was sitting at like 11.4 ort something, when i put it all together and put the key in i didnt even get a beep.

is this something i should be worried of come spring? or could it be the battery just isnt charged? i know i was having battery problems at the end of summer

thanks racer im gonna go try just spinning the pto and spraying a bunch of times an hopefully its good!

Did you read the battery instructions? If you have an acid fill battery you really need to read the instructions

Electrolyte acid battery :\
The guy at the shop just said to charge it up and itll be ready to go when i need it? Because it was half charged sittig at the store

OEM starters require HIGH AMPS and decent volts. 11.4 would do it if everything else was good.

I'd suggest a slower charge and then see where it is at. I have seen many "new" batteries be junk from day one.

Beeper may have died on you, common failure.

When you pressed start if you didn't hear the solenoid clicking then I bet you have a battery or wire issue.

ok good thanks as long as its more likely a common issue or just battery issue. but i didnt hear clikcs or anything as if batt was still completely dead

call me retarded but the pto doesnt spin at all? i even grabbed the end of the driveshaft behind the impellor and tried to spin but shes solid.. maybe 1/8th an inch of play back or forth

i am reading about a shaft guard? where would i take that out (unless thats the grey plastic which is definitely out)

Even if the motor and or pump is seized, you would have heard the starter solenoid clicking...

That said,, you NEED to get the motor turned over to see whats happening. You may need to pull the pump as the bearing sometimes seize up, which acts just like a seized motor.
