1998 Chevy K1500 Ext Cab, last year of the 350 small block, no converters, dual flow masters, 18" wheels. I pretty much pull everything with it. Jet skis, utility trailer, and boat. You can hear me coming blocks away:thumbsup:

That's going to be an interesting question for the Nissan specialists. at 3500lbs, you are going to be right up to the limit of that vehicle. It's beyond what I consider the 3/4 capacity safety limit that I personally set for my own rig. The question I cannot answer is the CVT transmission those vehicles come with. Can they withstand the strain of towing?

Most of the specs I saw listed for that year Murano also are highly footnoted that it's towing capacity was 3500lbs "properly equiped" I am assuming with tranny coolers and of course the necessary type hitch which I don't believe are standard.

I pulled our X-20 last two seasons with my Chevy Colorado which had a towing capacity of 5500lbs or so. Our boat is identical to yours plus a tower. I don't think I would have wanted to tow much more than that boat with the Colorado. I am sure looking forward to towing with the Sierra this year.

I'm thinking you are ok for short tows, but I wouldn't plan any multi-hour trips with that rig. Good luck and be safe.

Yeah ill just have to be carefull and feel it out... The towing deal is supposidly their stock set up i just gotta get the reese hitch and wiring kit i hope it will work.. thanks for the advice, ill def be carefull. Im gonna pull it to the thousand islands in clayton new york 150 mile trip one way. i plan on having tank of gas on but empty it says the dry weight is 2100 lbs the boat when with full tank and oil its probably 450 lbs heavier plus anchors vest ski equip im thinking max weight would come to 3,000 lbs but im gonna make sure the fuel tank is under 1/4 tank and just fill up with the gas near water...

This is the old setup from back in the "good ol' days" before I had a wife and kids. 2004 Mach 1 5spd and a 2002 GP1200R.

i'd be careful towing close to max capacity with that murano and its CVT, i've heard they weren't really up to the task of hauling around just the SUV alone in the early years and there's no way to service the box, only option when they let go is R&R.

anyways, here's a pic of my rig and new-to-me 97 xp on the way home last sunday. truck is a 2010 xterra off-road with 2" add a leaf rear and spacer front lift, total chaos front upper control arms and a shrockworks steel rear bumper. cool thing about the xterras is they're pre-wired for a brake controller, just have to buy the extra bit of harness. not that the xp is really going to be pushing the limit.

hmmmmmmmm lou, hmmmmmm jake, hmmmmm rob, hmmmmmm sink, hmmmmmm , wonder wonder wonder what ole seadoo buddies tow rig looks like, ???? now dont take picture of your neighbors truck, we all know what your el camino looks like

Naw I sold the good old ElC for over twice what I paid for it.

I live on a lake, so don't tow it much. 2010 GMC Terrain with factory installed hitch and accessories.
No problem with the ski.
It will tow the boat to the ramp to launch it, but I won't take it out with the Terrain. I borrow my one neighbors Jeep or my other neighbor Ram Hemi to do that.

A Terrain is rated at 3500lbs. towing, if you can't get a 19' Glastron out of the lake somethings wrong. Oh wait maybe your other boat is the QEII.

Lou

The V6 is rated at 3500
We have the 4 cylinder due to the amount of driving my wife does for work. Rated at 1500 lbs
The ramp is about 1/2 mile away.

SDB, you should pick up a cheap Honda Civic to launch your boat. Maybe put a winch in the trunk.

So I posted a couple of pics here several days ago. It said they needed to be approved by admin. I know it went through because it subscribed me to this thread.

I guess that post has vanished so I'll do it again.

This is my current tow vehicle. 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee with the 4.7l V8 and Quadra Drive. QD is awesome because it has Vari-Lok front and rear axles that act as open difs until they detect wheel spin. It will lock all 4 wheels and turn them all at the same time if needed and it's a factory option.

This was from the good ol' days (pre wife and kids). 2004 Mach 1 with a hidden hitch towing a 2002 Yamaha GP1200R. The oil feed line fell off of the carb and caused the number 3 piston to eat itself up. That was a $5000 mishap and I only got 10hrs (I bought it used with 80hrs on it) of use out of it. $500/hour :banghead:

Hi, $5K for an engine. What happened to it? Was it rebuilt or did you buy a new one?

ps...I think you missed the street...... :)

Here's my tow rig, its a Ford Falcon XR6 Turbo ute. Does alot of towing from jetskis to boats to big generators without a problem.

That thing is 100% awesome!

Thanks fella, unless your in Australia or NZ you dont get to see silly utes like that. Its absolute rubbish in the wet as it just wheelspins at tiny amounts of throttle. Bloody great fun to drive and I love it.
