What I did to my 4-tec boat today...

I removed my graphics!
Saw a few photos floating around with no or minimal graphics...couldn't decide if I want custom or not and figured it wouldn't hurt to go naked for awhile to figure out if I like it or not!
I noted the previous owner loved to bump docks...and then learned on my first trip even with Vector system that it's going to be learning curve for the wife...no sense in scratching up new graphics!
PS. My OH numbers are going to go soon enough...those numbers are fit for a john boat!

Yesterday, I towed mine about 275 miles to the coast. Today, I washed her and did a final check before putting in the water tomorrow morning for two weeks.

It's rediculous and it's amazing stuff but I struggled with the price and I don't think the value is really correct. I always wanted to try it so my desire over power my rational side. I'll write more about the project soon but they basically threw in the third piece for free as the stock template is two pieces. I said basically for free because what they charged for the medium piece didn't jive with the area footage fee for the other pieces!

Well real teak wouldn't have the desire properties (soft and maintenance free) and although I've put a tongue and grove teak in my 1988 Wellcraft V20 (deck & accents) as well as a Taira 3100 (cabin sole) I doubt you could fine anyone to install teak & holy for $400 like this! Took about 30 minutes to install all 3 pieces.

No I agree with you completely...it's very over priced. My initial reaction when I opened the boat what...holy crapy what a rip off. It's way thinner then I thought it would be. I don't think the value fits the bill. I'm going to address it in a write up of the install for others considering it.
Sorry I missed the joke...I'm so DIY and actually bought teak on eBay (a crap load) and had enough for projects for several boats and a table...so I was thinking that direction and not the crazy prices pro installers would charge for similar!

I wanted to give you some close up of how big this monster is...and it's built very well (the connector). It's such a direct fit out of the box I put it on the window and turned the knob twice...and it was secure. You'd think it's OEM!

My only suggestion would be to move the mirror to the starboard side a little further so it doesn't hang into the opening between the windshield pass through. You don't want people accidentally bumping it as they pass through from the cabin to the bow and vice-versa.

The seadeck looks good. I have the hydroturf on mine. It looks awesome for my boat however when I am on it with bare feet it makes them really itchy...no one else that gets on has that problem so maybe it's just me. lol. Also I like that mirror. Is that a mount for a tablet or something to the right?
Busy week. Rode 53 miles yesterday down to Barefoot Landing. Kept forgetting to install the mirror until we were underway. Got that done this morning. Very solid and I think I'm going to love it.

Took the Bimini cover off today and washed it. I think it is on its last leg. Will have the local awning shop make one over the winter.

It's not what I did to my 4tec today, it's what some douche did to our 4tec today.
Behold our mangled tail light. 3rd one in 2 years. Never once has someone left a note. Hit it so hard it mangled the metal light guard above the tail light. A few smashes with the BFH and I got the shape mostly back. Need to finesse the rest.
I cracked someone's tail light last year and left a note with my nbr. Got an angry text from the guy, but shipped a new light to his home as it was the right thing to do.
I hate people at times.

I purchased a vexilar sonar phone a few weeks ago and installed it this past weekend in my challenger 180. I mounted the transducer inside the boat behind where the factory battery sits using 1200lb epoxy. I also purchased a cheap phone case and a life proof mount to complete the package. The picture is hard to make out but it's a nice little system and worked well on the lake today. Not bad for about $175 all in, and no wires running all over the place!

Ouch... I think someone's car is sporting some new racing stripes, unless it was at the boat ramp and you were hit by another trailer... they probably had no idea... stupid person is probably trying to figure out who hit them!
I love the old BFH... sits right between my Bastard File and Spud Wrench
