what do you have to carry on-board with you?

fire extighisher
paddle?
flares?
radio?
air horn?

what else, or what do i not need that i listed above?

i've owned a boat, but not sure if same rules apply to a jet ski.

i live in florida, if that makes a diffrence.

thanks.

I think you are required to have a serviceable fire extinguisher BY LAW. AFAIK, I need to bring a whistle on board.

hey guys,
i just took the coast guard PWC certification which is required in NY.

The following items are required:

Fire Extinguisher
Air horn OR wistle
SOS Flag
Flares (3 which must be OUT Of the box)..dont keep them in the box because you can get a summons in NY.
Toe Rope
Anchor

just got hit up other day at lake for a 2lb fire extinguisher and a "square" floatation device, looks like seat cushion for baseball game.

Don't leave home without it!

I think that the OP is asking specifically about a PWC and not a sportboat. for a PWC i am pretty sure you don't need the throw cushion. but i think it depends on if you will be in the ocean or a fresh water lake as to if you need flairs and or emergency radio. when i take my GTX to the local lake, I always have a fire extinguisher; paddel; rope; whistle; and some form of anchor
