What's the current go-to gauge setup for swapping over to a single gage hood? Used multi function? Is there an aftermarket tach that fits/looks good? I visually check fuel/oil before each ride anyways on all my 2 stroke toys.

Usually people will put the VTS gauge on the hood and move the multifunction gauge to the dashboard next to the DESS post, similar to a 95 xp800. But it depends on what information you consider important.

I was just looking at one of Nick Jarman's pictures of that setup earlier in the thread. Looks like a small digital inductive tach on the dashboard as well. I like that, nice and clean.

I'm assuming if I swap to a WSP hydraulic trim eventually that I will lose function of the trim gage.

Yes that is also quite common. I personally use a trailtech tachometer mounted on my handlebars, but I know many people like to use tiny tach tachometers as well.

You will typically lose your VTS gauge when switching to a hydraulic trim system, so it might be a better idea in your case to have your multifunction gauge on the hood, and ditch the VTS gauge.

I think that probably sounds like my best bet. This is my first real X4 'build' although racing quads when I was younger I'm familiar with the trailtech setup.

Thank you!

Nothing really good to add just complaining lol

After playing musical seadoo's from my single to my double trailer and my girlfriends GTX this morning...... I really appreciate my X4's. If I want to ride something that tubby I'll just take my boat. If she doesn't start riding that thing more I'm yanking the motor out and tossing it in my GSX

Yep my wife has a 1996 GTX it's big. I have never ridden a new 4 stroke and those are even bigger, I guess the massive acceleration from those supercharged engines is the only thing that makes them fun to ride.

My wife made me get a 96gtx instead of a 96xp "for the family". I'm the only one that goes and rides it though...

I'm still blessed to be able to have a sea Doo at all, and the power makes the GTX fun... But I am a bit jealous of the x4 peeps. :-)

Yard sale? How much was it? Is that a 140mm skat pump or 148mm?
I honestly don't know on the pump. Haven't had it off and I'm not seeing a part number anywhere. Yeah, basically a yard sale. Guy had it advertised on offerup, but knew nothing about the ski. Even had it listed as a "Skat Trak" jet ski. He was basically selling a trailer with a free ski. He was dead set on $800 for the trailer, and the ski came with it.

Get it running buddy... I wanna ride it at body beach in a few weeks. [emoji6]
Oh it runs! Runs pretty darn strong too! I've never owned a race ski and many of the parts have little information anymore. I was concerned about the jetting and such.
Now, here's where this gets fun!...
I found more info on the ski last night. It ran in the 2005 WF at Havasu. Anyone remember Ricky G (went by 800 Doo)??
That's the ski I have!
