Hey guys, I just got a 95 xp and been going through fixing it up. I have wanted one for a while, and need some quick advice (and yes I actually did just read all 191 pages)

Seems like the gauges don't work. I know the vts is done as I had to disconnect the main power from it as it was shorted.

I disconnected the other daisy chained gauges (vts and rpm) and can verify power and ground to the main all in one gauge. Is the gauge shot or is it a possible MPEM issue? (don't want to just throw parts at her)

Looks like a great idea any issues getting it primed?

absolutely none, hook it up it just starts sucking like a vegas whore on nickle night! wet or dry it didn't seem to care.

I just stuck some 1/4 fuel line on either side from the fuel tank to a vp can and as soon as hose was under the gas it came spitting out pretty fast. I also tested to see if it would continue to siphon after being disconnected from 12v and it did, although very slowly about 1/4 of the pace it had when connected to 12v.

considering that the little harbor freight orange things were $5.99 sale and only were good for 1-2 uses, if this little bugger holds up for multiple uses then i'm thrilled.

Spim, I think the real question is....what are you doing with premix? Coming back to the dark side? You cant resist.....

Don't they have to be primed?

Lower price on the fuel pump gents. There is also one with an initial bid of $1.99 search hep-02a just don't bid each other up.

Cool idea, I'd love to go electric, but I have two concerns:

1. This doesn't look like a positive displacement pump. Does it need to be primed?

2. This type of metal doesn't look very rust proof, especially if salt touches it. Does it by chance go inside the tank?

This last one is not a concern, but more a question of how to wire this to a 2-stroke. What wire can I splice this to that would tell this thing to come on, and go off?

I've had this idea to make my own electric transfer pump using one (or 2) of those cheap fuel pumps and hacking up a HF drill so it can be cordless. So many ideas so little time...

I tell you, after seeing a puddle of oil leak out of both my skis this year, I'm ready for premix just to be rid of this gd problem. Tired of degreasing my hulls.

This is for tank draining only, no one was suggesting to actually use this. No way I would put and electric pump on a ski or boat, let alone trust a $9 pump to get me anywhere but stranded.

Oh, I've been using an old fuel injection pump for that for years now. But I use a primer bulb to prime it. I might get this little guy as it would make for a simpler system. I used to put some of those seadoo fuel strainers in-line before the pump and recirculate fuel in my boat before I took the old tank out. It was probably the first time in that boat's life when someone's done anything to clean the tank. Worked pretty well, caught a bunch of crap. Now that I have an in-tank pump, I attach the intake hose to a long aluminum tube and use it like a vacuum. Used that to suck out visible pieces of crud that somehow made it into the tank.

The 720 doesn't have raves. I haven't checked where the leak is coming from, I'm guessing the tank itself. Might be time to go premix and just fill the rv cavity with oil and Lucas

Man I miss my ski :/ I'm literally fiending to be on the water. Winter is hard on this seadoo junkie. This will be a big plus of my moving to FL next year, though I will miss the snow. NC doesn't get nearly enough of that for my taste, but overall, I'd rather have summer than snow.

I'm likely going to the Miami area, wife is an interior designer and is dragging along me to her mecca. I'll miss riding and not having to flush my motor. I got stuck at the Bradenton airport once when i flew down to pick up a car. The car was "not as described" so i tried to fly back... long story short, i spent about 20hr in and around the Bradenton airport, met some cool ppl and caught up on a loooot of citcoms before catching a cab to Tampa to get back home. Fun times. I look fwd to coming back with floaty toys in tow [emoji3]
