Reading Key - forever

Folks, when I plug in my learning key it shows Reading Key for well over a minute or more. The dealer tried to fix it at the end of last season and the problem still exists. Any advice or ideas would be a big help. I almost went over a waterfall while my key was reading a book perhaps? Thx

If it's like my 2013 GTX, you have to put the key on the post with in a couple of seconds after pushing the red start button or it will not start

I had the same issue.. Took it to the dealer and they re flashed and gave me a new key and reads the key instantly now. Was under warranty.

Must be on nearly perfect and be clean as well. Clean the terminal with a pencil eraser.

Hit the start button prior to putting the key on the post. this seems to be the fastest way as the computer has to boot up and then read the key.
