Problem with water in exhaust or resonator when stopping after going 35-40mph (6800RPM)

The boat doesn’t want to return to speed upper 6800RPM until about 5 minutes of running at low speeds (4000RPM). This I think is because of water getting waked into the exhaust system from stopping and the resonator / muffler get over whelmed. I just installed a new OEM water regulator valve because the old one’s seat was worn out and pitted. When I open the lid at idle I hear a water falling sound coming from the muffler area. I don't know if that is normal at low speeds.

Can anyone tell me just what this configuration does and why water comes out of the exhaust pipe when I pull the boat up the ramp and let it drain? its like I chock off the life of the boat when I slow or stop.

Can't say if that's normal or not, but are you sure you have the regulator lines hooked up correctly?

Wow! I think I got it, the exhaust hose 75MM (1 7/8 X 3") was melted on the bottom and dripped at idle but when I got up to 4000RPM it sprayed out a lot from the bottom. This in turn lost cooling to the tuned exhaust pipe and would not allow me to get to 6800RPM. SO... fixed IT AND WILL TEST IT THIS WEEKEND again. also needed a bilge pump to boot. Thanks for the advice.

Good one, except it's an exhaust leak into the bilge and the engine cannot run by mixing carbon monoxide and fuel, it needs air(N2+O2) and fuel, right?

N2 is an almost inert gas of course, and CO is toxic to humans. I bet it runs much better by removing the seat?

WOW! ok what about water being injected into the resonator at low speeds and the tuned pipe fitting on the exhaust cooling the exhaust and muffling the sound?
