Hi there,
This is the first time i am posting but let me thank you all for all the discussions which helped me so much with the 1999 951 GTX i purchased 4 years ago.
Last saturday, while on the lake, i suddenly lost power and the fuel gauge started rapidly indicating low fuel. By the time i reached the ramp tank was empty. Upon inspection return fuel line was broken and fuel visible within the hull. Ordered new fuel line to replace all completely. I was wondering though why i had reduced power if the leak was on the return side and not on the line going to the carb...???

I am certain it was the return side. The hose from the PTO side carb was broken at the plastic nipple. The shipment with the fuel line hose arrives today. Will replace it and see what happens. But i need to replace all lines. They are in such a bad shape if you pull lightly on any of the hoses they tear apart. Do you think while i am replacing the lines i might as well remove and clean my carbs?

Could not hurt to rebuild the carbs. Genuine Mikuni new needles and seats. It may have lost power because of all the gas in the hull. They don’t like to run on exhaust fumes or probably gas fumes

Thank you all. I found 2 or 3 more broken lines once i was ready to put new lines. Among those was the smaller sized tube hose assembly on the back of the carbs. So, POPPS, the power issue due to those "in" lines and the gushing of fuel due to return. Will update you.
P.S. I will do the full rebuild in about a month or so.

Okay,,,i'm guessing the smaller hoses are for the accelerator pump,,which is on the rear carb,,hhmm,,,yup...pull the carbs,,,start from scratch

Correct, those hoses were for the accelerator pump. Finished up replacing all lines yesterday late afternoon. Today back on lake. Jet ski runs very well. Thank you.
As i said, did not take out the carbs. Will do soon.
