Very happy to hear members will have others joining them. The more the merryer. And the potential to have other local riders join the site is an added bonus. If no one else comes up with a specific thing they want to do I will go through the list in a a few days and simply make the choice. I think it would be wise to choose a somewhat local thing on this first venture as it will give us a chance to get together and not have to worry about someone ski that is not really up to a long trip.. I'm thinking use tis as a "learning curve" kind of thing...

Two things,,, Anyone going to be around for a ride tomorrow? (Wednesday the 4th). I'll be off the next two days if so. Second,, lets get this wrapped up over the next two day. So AGAIN,,, any additional input is welcomed. If not,, I will simply make the call,, OK?

Coastiejoe make the call, I'll follow your lead, I have three skis ready to go!!!! I have today and Sunday off!!! Other wise I would meet up for a ride!!!!

We had just enough waves to allow for some jumping and good cruising.. I was sore the next day from the hard, (aka - fun) riding though..

Some of the nurses ask me where I get my tan. I tell them the beach. Where Florida? Virgina? No Ohio! Where is there a beach in Ohio? Duh! The big lake north of here. There is A state park / beach every 10 miles along the shore! Big one in Erie PA.

My face, hands and parts of my feet got tanned last week. EVERYTHING else was covered by my wetsuit.. LOL

I cheat too. I get a tanning membership. Get's it started in May when it is still too cold to tan. By the middle of June I am Berry brown! My Wife has not noticed.

Ok,,, Here are my thoughts to lock this down. I have called Geneva Marina which is located at 4599 Padanarum Rd, Geneva, OH 44041. Phone: (440) 466-7565).
Here is there website.
http://www.genevamarina.com/

There is no good Geneva-On-The-Lake website that I am finding. I am certain if we do this, we would eat at Eddies Grill. Here is a FaceBook link to them.
https://www.facebook.com/eddiesgrill

Here are our options.
1). If we drive our vehicles there and launch our skis/boats it will be free. This will also give us our vehicles to go to Geneva-On-The-Lake (G-O-T-L) for lunch and some relaxing time.
Or,

2). Meet somewhere to the west of Geneva (Madison, Perry, Fairport) and cruise to the marina on our toys and pay for Dockage. I was able to negotiate a rate of .58 cents per foot which is half the norm. If we cruise there, we would need transportation to and from G-O-T-L. The marina has given me number for who they use locally. I called them and they would charge us $3.00 each way.

The marina does sell fuel. The present cost is $4.43 a gallon. This has been the price all year so I expect this will remain the same price. It is 87 octane and has no ethanol in it. I run ONLY 91 and higher, but I’m not too worried to put a lower octane in the tank for a trip in the event I need fuel.
If we dock at the marina, they would like me to call the Monday before we make the cruise to make sure they save us space. For this reason, I would really appreciate a decent head count by July 14th which is the Monday before the July 20th cruise date.

3). If the water is very nice and calm, there is a metal set of steps that is right out the street that Eddies Grill is on. We can anchor and use the skis to tie other skis off and what not. If we do this, we would have no charge to do anything other than buy fuel if you need it at the marina.

Ramps: If we do option #2. There are ramps at Fairport Harbor that I believe all cost to launch from. Only ramps I know of in Perry are private. Madison has a free ramp.
As far as I am concerned this is a final decision. If this does not work for you, let me know ASPA so we can plan out something else.

To summarize:
We need to get a consensus on option #1 or #2 or #3 (water permitting).

If #2, we need to decide on where we meet up regardless of how you get there. For distance, I think Fairport would be about the furthest we would want to travel as a group. That would take up from Fairport, to Perry, to Madison, to Geneva, then to the Marina which is just past the main town of Geneva but before Geneva on the Lake.

If #3, same as #2 pretty much. Just need to decide on where we will meet up.

So now I need your input. PLEASE let anyone you know that may want to join us about the Cruise. Please get me your thoughts on the options. And let me know your thoughts on where to meet to start the cruise.

Any questions, ideas or issues please let me know..

Geneva State Park is perfect! We can also run on the skis to Ashtabula harbor also. Only at 10 min. Ride on the skis. Nice pertected harbor there, and sand bar we can rest on, or hang out on. Me and my wife Jessica are in!!! Working on two other people also. But the state park is a perfect spot to meet up!!!!

Rob,,
Sounds good to me. I am wide open... I figured I had to make a choice to make it happen... Thanks.

I was just headed here to BUMP the thread myself,, In the next couple of days I will email all those that are within this thread. A gentle reminder...

I have an office day tomorrow,,, YES, on a Sunday,,, But I plan on being on the water after that...

I left the dealership at 3, fear rain would ruin my Sunday off, so going to enjoy a few hours on the water, and watch a sunset!!!

I'll email all on this list today. But I'm thinking Fairport is a decent launch. Safe ramp, protected harbor and then maybe an hour or so ride to Geneva.

coastiejoe, we do not want to ramp at Ruthifords landing, the river ride is way to long for a two stroke ski. There are nice ramps right at the mouth of the Grand River!!! Ramp fee is 5 bucks. They are on the right hand side of the river. You can see them on google maps. I'll get the name and phone number to ramps and post back in a few.
