If you follow freeriding, you've probably heard about the unfortunate loss Tanner Thomas recently had at the Blowsion Surf Slam. I embedded the video below, but what the video Doesnt show is not only was the ski never seen again, but the tow hook went thru the meat between his thumb and finger. He had also shelled out $2g to get his motor fixed just before the event.
We are trying to put another ski together for him. While we don't expect to collect enough to build him another $13k ski, we are hoping to at least get him a running ski with a few of the parts he wants, and he can upgrade as he can afford.
We have a few parts already being donated like a hull, engine and some misc, but we are starting with NOTHING. Daylight is going to paint the hull and we'd really love to have the footholds he wants put in, hood, nose piece, and Destroyers so all the paint matches (these items are $2000 together).
Some of you might wonder why we are doing this...this guy but everything he had into this ski. He lives in AK in the off season just so he can make it to the comps in the fall. He doesnt have a bunch of huge sponsors to help.
So, here's where I flat out ask each and every one of you to pony up $10 for this fund. That's it, $10, how many of us would even notice $10 missing? If that's too much, give $5, seriously, no body is going to think you are a cheap skate! If you want to give more, great, but $10 from everyone here, or some hard part donations, and we can build him a great ski.
