Hello All,
I am new to the forum and also new to the world of PWC's. I recently picked up a 94 XP that has been sitting for some time. The person that I got it from said that the ski would run fine out of the water but once you would put it in the water it would bog down. I ran a compression test which came out fine. One cylinder was 150 and the other was 148. It has spark and will start with a shot of either. I have yet to add any fuel to it. I am going to rebuild the carbs and replace all of the fuel lines first. The waverunner has an APE pipe and a Coffman exhaust on it and also an aftermarket intake and air filter. I was wondering if this is a good combination or if it is just trouble. I am considering looking for a stock pipe, ehaust, and airbox. I would like to have a reliable waverunner. Let me know your thoughts. I am not very farmiliar with PWC's so any tuning tips would be greatly appreciated. Also if anyone could offer some advice on maintenance things that should be done before I do drop it in the water would also be greatly appreciated. Can anyone tell me what the white nipple on the cylinder head is for?
