New Thumb Flange Handlebar Grips

Called a couple of dealers near me. Not is stock, but I did find them at a Palm Beach Store. I have to drive right by them on Friday, I'll stop and get a set.

Does anyone know if SeadooWarehouse has these? On the new mobile app, 2016 is not even an option.

I looked there first myself. I am certain they can be added as they do so all the time when members want to order things. My intention is, to see if it works and to confirm if it is a straight swap or not. Then provide all the details and numbers to our site and get them added assuming it works as we hope it does.

One thing I am VERY afraid of is, walking in to buy two sets and buying two new skis instead.

Last time I went into a dealer I was headed there to get some oil. $22,000 later I got my oil and two new skis. Sold the old ones on eBay,,,

I'm wondering how does that work with the thumb having to be on the throttle, at least on mine it is, maybe on your 2011 its the index finger, but for me I think it would be less comfortable as I have to have my thumb on the throttle anyway... I'm as curious as you are make sure you post photos when you get them and eventually get them installed I can see that being a pain too.

The 2011 is a finger throttle. I don't know how it would, or could work with a thumb throttle. My 2001 is a thumb throttle, so I will be able to see if it is anywhere near being close.

I'm kinda interested in this, and if it doesn't work I could always re-sell on fleabay.

Assuming you haven't been there already, can I talk you into picking up a set for me as well and I'll paypal ya ?

Spim. I'll pick them up and then we can worry about the money later. Planning on getting them on Friday.

awesome !
I do mostly flat water riding, and this might be a nice little easter egg for the ski, and cheap !

(usually all my other idea's cost $300 !)

Agreed. Normally when the words "Seadoo" and "Mods" is in the same sentence it starts at $300 and goes up.

Pulled the grips off my 09 RXT-X and my 2010 GTX. The RXT have grips that are not angled where they meet up against the inner steering column. I did try the grips on the other ski and they fit fine which leads me to believe the shaft sizes are the same size and over-all length. When the RXT grips are on the GTX there is a small gap where the leading angled edge of the GTX grips of the GTX would normally fill the gap. Simply cosmetic issue. I'm planning on picking up the 2016 grips later today.

I just re-called and confirmed. They have two sets in stock. I am buying them both. If they work, great,,, if not then I will sell them to the 2013 up crowd... (Spim, one set is for you. If they work I'll get a second set later).

CJ:
Really interested in the results. I will check out the grips in my 2011 later today.

Having two skis will help to get a good idea of how this works and looks. If they fit like I am hoping, I am not worried about the gap issue as I will have extra grip length on the 2016 grips. May have to trim them or see if they will crunch up on the angle part on my RXT. But I will figure something out.

I pulled a grip from my '11 GTI LTD and it is angled like Coastiejoe's 2010. Cap and 10mm bolt is the same.

Ok. Here are the grips,,,

The end caps look to be the same.

The open end is a bit larger On the 2016 model. About 1.5 inches in it tapers to what I think is the same size as both my RTX and GTX.

Over-all length is good as well. The angled end and the non-angled ribbed end of the RXT are soft and pliable. So they will conform to fit it need be.

I am out of town until Monday. I'll try them on my skis when I get home Monday evening.
