My wife and I just picked up a 2004 SeaDoo GTI LE.

Restoration work begins with getting it running. Once we are sure she'll run, phase 2 of the restore begins. Needs a thorough detailing (engine compartment and exterior) and the seat needs to be reupholstered (if I can with the poor condition of the foam). A couple of small to decent size blemishes on the bow, but should be fixable cosmetically. Aside from that, very much looking forward to restoring her and being a member on here.

Welcome to the forum.
Where is @benjilafouine? He did a resto on this same ski and would be a great source of info for you. I have a 2003 GTI if you have any questions.

I’m here! Oh, lots of work there. I think the seat is gone that is for sure, but it can be fixed. I went through that. And I‘m not sure I want to see the inside. But this is a great and simple ski. Mine still rocks. Fire up your questions!

No these are not scuffs on the ski hull, just sun reflection. I fixed that photo but I didn’t find the fixed one just now... That one is from today.

Great looking SeaDoos! And thank you for the welcoming.

I'm having some difficulty locating the seat (assembly and foam replacement) as well as the steering cover pieces. Is it safe to say it is too old for replacement parts? Do other models share parts?

You won’t find a new original that is for sure. And each second year is different on a seadoo. There are two ways to fix it:

1. If the seat is not too degraded, have someone do a cover over it. This is what I did with mine but it was in a much better condition.

2. Have someone remove everything and restart with new foam but you’ll lose the shape.

I was lucky that my restoration guy had the original colour in stock.
