Neoprene covered seats good or bad idea?

Well, I'm starting to gear up to redo my seats on my '97 challenger and am thinking of using neoprene for the centre of the seats and back rests. In order to limit water absorption in the seats I was thinking of adding the neoprene on the existing vinyl... Just not sure if that's a good idea or not.

My reasoning for neoprene is to add a bit of grip to the seats for comfort while riding and when moving around in choppy conditions.

Any input would help

That's an interesting idea. Where abouts in Quebec are you? If your from around montreal I have a buddy who owns a large upholstery shop although he specializes in European cars . He has done 2 seadoo boats for me . The first one a challenger 2000 . He did over the winter. And he just recently did my white seat bottoms 97 challenger. Charged me $50.00 . And the material he used was marine 4 way stretch. Which is nessary to achieve the wrinkle free contour of the extruding armrests. Go visit him he is in ville st-Laurent on marcel Laurin http://www.automobiliainc.com tony is the owner . He is a great guy . Tell him what your intentions are. If you PM me before you go Ill call him to expect you. I will try to post pics of the work. Boat is up north at my cottage.

I'm in the Montreal area and Ty for the hook up but I kinda want to give this a try myself first(I may need your friends expertise after I screw it up) I'm really just wondering if putting the neoprene over the existing vinyl would work as I would like my seats as dry as possible... And Ty for the heads up about the 4-way stretch vinyl
