Not selling it but none of my amigos are experienced enough to bring along on a trip like this, but I'll fix it, bring it, and you can ride it. They are my stepdads and im the care taker cause everybody in my family are sissys and dont ride anything or turn wrenches. He bought em new in 04, rode em once and let his buddys kids sink one of them in the ocean, they are forever salty.

awesome, I appreciate it! if I don't get my hands on one, I might take you up on that, assuming I am able to make the trip

No problem dude, everybody beats the shit out of the red one  as long as this misfire isnt a smoked piston or broken valve or something 4strokeish i should be able to fix it cheap and quick. See sig below

Sorry to turn this into crappy honda talk  do we have any ideas on dates? I wasnt even gonna be able to make the lake norman ride earlier this year, but was able to sneak down last minute, I would like to contribute more to food/drinks/etc than I was able to at norman

quick update on my end.

my buddy and his group cancelled the silver glenn ride due to potential weather and rescheduled it for 2 weeks from now, so no Silver Glenn report on compatibility for a bit.

I'll let y'all worry about the dates, I really don't have much planned this fall so I should be able to make whatever you guys decide on.

the panhandle might be the most difficult for me only because its a long drive 8-10 hours but don't let that hold you back, it was one of my suggestions :)

Ill also throw out there if we do fresh water I can carry a large amount of fuel/food/coolers/whatever in the Kraken (challenger)

Ok,
Since I semi struck out on Silver Glenn info (sounds promising but ...)

I made a call to river ranch and spoke to their group sales rep, i'm very intrigued at this, even if it doesn't work for the group I might be putting together my own little mini group for this.

River ranch is a pretty cool place, about 20 minutes by water to the north end of the K river, (they have twisties bitches !!!!) and 20 minutes south of the lake, best of both worlds.

Google the maps too, big lake, long river, all we need is fuel !

poke around the website.

They have boat slips available $.50 per square foot, plenty of parking, onsite restaurant, general store, and past that there is pretty much nothing other there, totally out of the way of any signs of civilization.

$159 for a standard double queen bed room, $229 for Glamping. (pretty friggen cool tents, sleep 3/4)
some pic links for starters.

downside... Bad Timing... maybe...

the group sales lady I talked to (Christine) basically said once she gets into October she's sold out on most of the suites, glamping, but still has regular rooms, price goes up after Oct 7. (and oct 1 is borderline if they sell more units)

She basically told me that 9/23 and 9/30 were the best dates for a small/medium group, which is 3-4 weeks from now, they normally have a 2 night minimum once we get into october, but she can make a 1 night exception for a couple of us as long as they have rooms. (5 rooms for group rate)

I could envision 3-4 rooms, and one Glamp site, fire pit, waterfront, I can't see anything wrong except that they are pretty much all sold out from Mid october through season, especially for the nice rooms.

As I mentioned above, even if this doesn't work for the group, I might seriously consider this for a group of 4-6 and enjoy this place without having to deal with the 2 hour drive from home.

Thoughts?

If the R12x comes down I want a short bit of seat time on it, I had one for about 18 months and it was absolutely my favorite ski, incredible fuel range, fast enough to keep up with even my speed groups when cruising, turned on a dime. I had it on my double trailer the day a lady came over to buy the GTX and trailer and her boyfriend fell in love with it and made me an offer I couldn't refuse so I sold my favorite ski, been kinda looking on and off for a replacement but havent found one that wasn't all roached out.

ps... if your R12seat cover is all ratted or faded out, I have a really nice black carbon fiber seat cover for this that i'd let go for a dam good deal, its been on and off ebay for 4 months an nobody bought it so I put it back on the shelf.

You know I'll ride. I sent you my days off, need them again?

yes please, I was just discussing stuff with Eric last night and we got cut off because customers came in so we never set up a K river ride, but he knew a little bit about River Ranch and had good things to say.

Customers,,,, where are your priorities? I sent you my days off. I should send a pic of my flights for the second set I sent you. Other than the days off, I am out of the country. And every three days it is a different country. Five international trips in that month alone.

I'm off Sep 2nd to Oct 11, but I'll be in Ireland on a vacation. No riding then.

If a support boat isnt worth it or we do salt you can fir sure beat on a honda again, not as fast as your rxt, possibly lighter?

I like the looks of that place. It's not cheap but it is nice. It's also far enough south to be warm(hopefully) and maybe OCOD could reach it.

ya I know, i've been off the water 6 weeks, (7 now) but i've been traveling like crazy myself, its vacation season for me, out of town every other weekend and I also replaced my intercooler so that screwed me up as well. My wife has been hinting that I need to either ride or sell so I'm trying to ride to get her off my back.

(turned down 6.5K for my ski 3 weeks ago, I probably should have taken it, it was a fair offer) but I've got it fixed up nearly perfect now so I said no.

I just got my wife on saturday, if she said that in about 3 seconds she would hear the crack of a kx250 doing wheelies in our appartment parking lot! Then id fire up the boat and rev it out just because!

Would you allow DI's to join your mini meet?

Biggest concern would be fuel. I have ridden with other 2-strokes and have had no issues as they brought fuel with them. If we do hit a river, the biggest requirement is confidence. Rivers are not normally best for beginners.

Ummm...Ok, thanks.
Probably shouldn't have ask sorry.

A break is needed.

I wasn't implying you or anyone else is a beginner, just a general statement was all.

Rivers are an absolute blast. One of my favorite things to do.
