Ok,
Since I semi struck out on Silver Glenn info (sounds promising but ...)
I made a call to river ranch and spoke to their group sales rep, i'm very intrigued at this, even if it doesn't work for the group I might be putting together my own little mini group for this.
River ranch is a pretty cool place, about 20 minutes by water to the north end of the K river, (they have twisties bitches !!!!) and 20 minutes south of the lake, best of both worlds.
Google the maps too, big lake, long river, all we need is fuel !

poke around the website.
They have boat slips available $.50 per square foot, plenty of parking, onsite restaurant, general store, and past that there is pretty much nothing other there, totally out of the way of any signs of civilization.
$159 for a standard double queen bed room, $229 for Glamping. (pretty friggen cool tents, sleep 3/4)
some pic links for starters.

downside... Bad Timing... maybe...
the group sales lady I talked to (Christine) basically said once she gets into October she's sold out on most of the suites, glamping, but still has regular rooms, price goes up after Oct 7. (and oct 1 is borderline if they sell more units)
She basically told me that 9/23 and 9/30 were the best dates for a small/medium group, which is 3-4 weeks from now, they normally have a 2 night minimum once we get into october, but she can make a 1 night exception for a couple of us as long as they have rooms. (5 rooms for group rate)
I could envision 3-4 rooms, and one Glamp site, fire pit, waterfront, I can't see anything wrong except that they are pretty much all sold out from Mid october through season, especially for the nice rooms.
As I mentioned above, even if this doesn't work for the group, I might seriously consider this for a group of 4-6 and enjoy this place without having to deal with the 2 hour drive from home.
Thoughts?
