I just got married on Saturday, on our honey moon now, and our venue owner lady was a grumpy b!(@$&# most of the time, so I decided to make her day and I drug my dads 2 moarter launchers out that hold 16 each and strung 30 of those babies together and told one of my buddies to light this at any cost when we leave. The look on her face was priceless! Cost me my $300 damage deposit but worth EVERY penny. Thought I might share incase you wanted an idea how to spend more money

hhhhahahahahahahahahahahaahh!!!

St. John, from the stories and video's i've browsed over, looks fascinating and its most definitely on my bucket list.

However, if you don't know where you are going you can and will get lost pretty easily, the areas's that i'm speaking about look kind of like a cornfield maze on the water, lots of blind turns and dead ends that can be quite dangerous without an experienced guide leading a group around. IMO the SJ area is better suited for a group of 4-6 experienced riders with a local in the lead, not for a group of visitors just heading out for some fun.

With that said i'm sure there are some area's that are pretty much self guided, I was just putting in a word of caution as to why that area might not be well suited for an event that includes a bunch of visitors from out of town.

I'm back from my 5 day Alberta Canadian trip (boy are there some lakes i'd like to hit on a ski up there !)

I'll be following up on Silver Glenn today to see how that went.

Spim, that reminds me of a video on youtube where a bunch of dudes take a jetski trip to the Bahamas and not being familiar with the area and with no guide, they were zipping in and out of narrow mangroves with blind turns at every corner...well, need I say more...lets just say they all rode there SOLO, and some came back riding NUTS TO BUTTS...

So I agree with your post

Man, 30 min of riding at 40 plus??? and, by the looks of the pic, you guys were out FAR, huh? how far out were you in terms of miles?

I'd have to check wit ocod but at one point I would say we were about 25 miles out when we went to an old fort on an island. In total we rode about 80 miles.

We tried to hide under the Miami Vice Stilt houses but couldn't. So we ran for it. LOL

Yip, and with that said, I totally want to do the ride, just not with a large group, I want to head out with 4-6 max and including a couple of locals that know the area like the back of their hand. The video's are pretty friggen awesome and I think riding there would be pretty epic and an adrenaline rush, the SJ has been on my bucket list for about 4 years.

this one (airboat) gives you an idea of just how many gators are out there...
< I can't find Swamp Kings video but he did a ride last year out there and mama gators were everywhere...

I'm in on this on Spim,,, Lets set it up..

I dont know but it was far.
We were in regulated waters.

We made it to Boca Chita which was owned by Honeywell back in 1937 and is now part of Key Biscayne National Park which excludes PWC's

Insane.. those gators are good 2 go! I thought that was a ski until I saw where it said airboat. I've seen those gators be aggressive towards airboats.. hate to see if they choose to be aggressive to PWC's...

not really, but for example when you ride the K river, if you are the lead ski in the group, around pretty much every bend you will see a mama diving into the water (they feel safe there) and it looks like they are heading into the water in hopes that you fall off and they get a free lunch :) <I used to do speed runs up the K on my XP and i'll admit it was terrifying, because its a hell of a lot easier to get tossed on the XP than on my big 4 stroke.

I had one mistake (major adrenaline rush) where I made a wrong turn on the river and it opened up into this 50x50 yard wide little bay that had about 40 gators just staring at me like "wtf" I can tell you I made the most crisp/concise 180 on my little xp and hauled ass out of there like I was running from gunfire !

yep, that's exactly what it looked like...each time he got close, theyd all dive in like he was gonna be lunch!

So we are only looking for dates now? I'd like to hear from you guys on location options also.

If folks do want to come here to the Destin/Fort Walton Bch area then we do have three local members here.

If it is in Florida, I don't care where. I live in South FL, but will drive up as far as Jacksonville area.

Yea if we decide on Destin area then I have 2 extra bedrooms and enough parking for probably 2 double trailers..save ya'll on hotel expenses!

:seeya: i don't have a ski, yet, hopefully, but i think tampa is a pretty good area, lots of different places to explore, i used to love going up and down little manatee river, and there is open water and mangroves, and restaurant,

also, a few years ago, matt and I never fully got to explore manatee river

If it is Destin, I doubt I would make that trip. No pressure, this ride is not about me. I just don't like that area based on some past work trips I had to make there.

I don't want the location to keep anyone away.

I did enjoy that ride with Nam until my XP800 ignition trigger bracket broke. That was a long tow home behind a Yamaha.

It is just a ME THING in this case. I had a work day from hell in the Westin / Pan Handle area and simply do not care to go there and give the area any of my time or income. I seriously would not be offended if the area is Destin,, I just can't participate in the ride if that is the case. Sounds like I am a just crying,,, but you would have to hear the story behind my reasoning.. So again,, no offense if it is there, I just won't attend in this case...

Matt Braley^probably hurt your pride a little too

Bachelor Smith Mountian Lake trip resulted in the red salt turd getting a long tow after a misfire showed up

And you know that dreamometer lies, that tow took 2 hrs

Not selling it but none of my amigos are experienced enough to bring along on a trip like this, but I'll fix it, bring it, and you can ride it. They are my stepdads and im the care taker cause everybody in my family are sissys and dont ride anything or turn wrenches. He bought em new in 04, rode em once and let his buddys kids sink one of them in the ocean, they are forever salty.

Oh wow. Not sure why it sank, but when I was having a crap time chasing a leak on my sox for well over a month 5 years ago, I was seriously thinking of buying a Honda Aqua trax from a local down there in the keys.. Until I looked inside the hull and it was all one color: grease. Lol.
I was thinking HONDA due to the so called reliability of their cars..
In your opinion, besides the one that sank, are they in fact reliable machines? Or are they always requiring wrenching? And which one is more reliable, the turbo or N/A model?

I think honda missed their typical mark like the unmodified civics and accords, and rancher 4wheelers for that matter as far as it being relibale, new parts are hard to find, used parts are usually smoked. I have no experience on the na ones but both of the ones I have have the same problem not getting full boost and I have not tracked that one down. They sank it because they didnt put the plugs in  I need to diagnose the misfire on the red one but it actually gave me a check engine light with this problem so I have somewhere to start where as the low boost problem Im guessing one of its 3 coolant temp sensors is coroded off and the ecu dosent see it as warmed up and wont let it rip, or boost control solenoid, not sure yet. I hate 4 strokes that arnt my audi.
