Any and all, I did a Kissimmee River Run a few months back with Spim and friends of his from another Ski club/site. Had a great time. Cruised at 35 to 50 MPH for about 5 hours. Beached the skis on a bank and sat and BS'd and had lunch. There are no waves other than what your ski makes, you cruise the bends of the river as fast as you care to hang on.

We all brought extra fuel but none of us needed to fill up again. My tank holds 15.9 gallons. While heading back to the ramp my low fuel llarm was SCREAMING. LOL When I filled up before my next ride it took 15.7 gallons to fill up.

Through May 16th I am off on Sat/Sun. Then from May 17th through June 13th I am off on Fri/Sat.

Spim, if you can check with the others we rode with that would be great. Even if no one from here wants to join in, I'd like to go again with the crew you and I rode with.

I will certainly put the word out, actually a group of 5 just went out last saturday but I couldn't go, had family in town, I should have sent you a text and passed along the info,, sorry.

FWIW, I burned only 10.1 gallons on that ride (shameless honda plug) Normally, if we didn't have the big delay with D's ski having issues we would have taken a shorter break, cruised back and then did another run down river since we all had spare tanks to top off. I was in a big hurry to get back that day, had other obligations to keep.

But, when done right, IMO its the 2nd best fresh water ride in FL, with the St John's being #1, and the northern twisties of the Peace River and the backwaters of Marco (10K islands) being a close 3,4.

I don't mind when we take it rather slow and have long breaks in between but I prefer to Ride faster and take shorter breaks when we can.

I think the local members would really like this ride.

I haven't been able to squeeze out the time to ride much lately, took 30 days off since I have had a ton of weekend activities that have taken priority, so bad that I decided to make a quick hour long run Sunday and my dam battery was dead, charged it overnight and i'm hoping its ok if not then Tuesday I need to make a run up to batteries plus and get a new one if its toast... (thankfully I decided to start the ski before I made phone calls to look for a ride buddy)

The NEW gel cell battery I installed in my GTX the day before our ride ended up being junk. I caused many codes and screwed up my IBR. I bought a Candoo Pro just last week. Installed a new acid battery, plugged in the Candoo, made a note of the codes just in case, cleared them, hit a local lake yesterday. Seems to be fine. So in my case, I am blaming the issues on a battery that went bad and then getting a junk new battery.

It does crank up a bit weird, almost like a starter starting to go bad. There is only 55 hours on the ski.

I was thinking I might do the coupon deal with advanced but figured I fully expect to have this ski for the next 2 years so i'm going the 2 year warranty route.... just don't trust the ones with the 90/180 day warranty.

Bringing this back to the top. This trip is a blast. I say we make a party of it. Let's try to get 10 or more skis.

Spimothy Leary, I'm putting this one on you for the most part. I will be glad to help out and if we get enough interest I have shirts from the site that I will donate.

Went riding with Idoo3 today, he wants to do the Kissimmee River Run as well.

Sooo,,, what do we need to do to make this happen ????

I'll get on it over the next day or two.

I'll be at Daytona beach the 10th with the XP, if you don't mind an old 2 stroke I might join.

96 XP800!
Keep the 2 strokes alive!

I don't mind. Last time I went through 15.7 gallons, my low fuel was SCREAMING at me on the way back to the dock. I would guess our average speeds were 35 to 45 MPH with some high speed runs every now and then.

Please join us,,,

I will bring Seadoo Forum Shirts for those that want them...

Spimothy Leary I don't recall the name of the park, can you post whatever details so others can find it. I have it saved in my car GPS but won't be home for two days.

Yes.... come along....
if it's a 9 gallon xp.... you will need to make arrangements for extra fuel somehow. But it's a killer run on an xp....

I am excited that this is coming together. It is a fantastic run. No pressure, just nice enjoyable riding. You will get to see some wildlife, aka Alligators sunning themselves on the bank...

now I just have to find time to sneak out Wednesday afternoon to burn through some old gas that's sitting in the tank so I can head out with some fresh 93. I have 10 gallons in there that have been sitting for 5 weeks, my last two rides were so short (under 30 miles each) I haven't had to top off.

Thanks,,,

did you decide on Lake Placid area.. ? It was the only city I could think of that was reasonably close and not completely in cow country. and PS, if its there, and you get there a day early, you can catch a ride on the lake there, its nice clean water, Lake June is a really nice one with a good public ramp.
