one thing: where in the boat is the fuel tank? just asking because having ridden one of these in its original form, they never did get up and plane really well in the first place, and originally the weight was much more centered probably than it is in your setup. i also remember the trouble my dad had with the 8' dinghy on his boat with his 240lbs sitting in the back near the motor. he ended up moving the fuel tank up in the bow and strapping it down with an additional 20lbs of dive weights.
so my suggestion would be if you still have trouble getting it planed out, have your buddy sit up in the bow seat to try go get it to break over onto plane. if that doesn't work i'd try adding trim tabs to the transom. in fact i'd recommend that anyways, given the weight of roughly another person is sitting on your swim platform all the time. how far out of the water does the platform sit? with the 657 in it, the platform was 4-6" above the water typically.
