it's what's for dinner...

Ah...see...thought's that's what you were gonna say.

I cooked them low and slow...figure....3-4hrs At about 175-200....w/ mesquite charcoal. I form a U around the entire lower area with the charcoal...light off one end with an electric starter.....it takes a while to burn around the U...smokes the whole time.

Works really well.

Wawa Turkey gobbler. Turkey, stuffing, provolone cheese, gravy all on a long roll. Dinner on the road tonight, 370 mile day trip, on top of a 10 hour in plant work day, all in a days work.

LOL, as we joke... Iron stomach with a rubber tail pipe. Nope, all is good better than sushi from the gas station, LOL. I have to watch the red sauces, that's what does me in but I can usually tell by the look if I'll be up all night grasping my chest in agony. That was a surprise that they had it. The have specialty sandwiches through out the year, this is one of my faves. It sucks being on the road and near a Wawa (they're on just about every corner) cause all I want is this sammich. It is supposed to have cranberry sauce on it, but having cranberry sauce and then taking a drink afterwards give you a bad taste in your mouth, so I opt out of the CB sauce. I have an addiction to food, I'll admit it.

Griz,
I see chicken on the right, but what is that on the left on your grill?

Wow, there is a lot of good looking food here. Not a current pic but Here is what our breakfast looks like when at the cottage.

Tonight were marinated shrimp tacos with chipotle sour cream, an Asian type slaw and home cooked chips.

Shrimp on the grill is a favorite. I remember friends hitting Baja and coming back to Mesa with a cooler full...loved it.

Turkey day was great. 2 birds injected with butter jalapeño sauce, deep fried to juicy perfection. And the rest of the spread was awesome as well. I'm stuffed. No left over bird either, gone!

Not to sound weird or anything, but I love the backsplash behind your countertops lol

Thanks bud, so do we. I redid our kitchen a year or two ago and that was the the icing on the cake. It wasn't hard to put up either.

I dont want to turn this into a Martha Stewart thread, but I have never had jalapeño sauce with my turkey. Is it part of the cooking process or an add on to the eating and garnish part of the meal? I dont like super hot food, but love the flavour of jalapeños.

Nevermind I just reread your post " injected with butter jalapeño sauce" pretty much explains it. I am assuming just pour some down the neck and let it soak in. I am gonna have to try that.

It's an injection done before cooking. If you've ever had Santa Fe Turkey or Tex-Mex turkey from a deli it tastes just like that. It's not all hot and spicy, but a nice flavor. The Turkey is so juicy. I can't really get into regular Turkey anymore, with this stuff I just can't stop eating.
