Okay so my motor had the hollow valves... When the one on the middle engine went... Cracked the Valve Head and the Block... The rear motor mounts were also shot so replaced them and some seals... Crazy because they did a lot less work getting the motor out than some other places told me... One place told me they even had to cut the drive shaft... This place didn't have to and also cleaned the drive shaft so it looks like new

OK...now you got my attention! What year did Seadoo (Rotax) actually "officially' change to the solid valves or the 75 series???? It has gotten to the point of, 'is today going to be a fun boating experience or is going to cost $5,000.00?'

They were in most, but not all, 04-06. In 06, they are pretty mixed. I have not seen them in the 07's.

Thanks for posting your progress. I have an 06 challenger and I might have to do the same thing. At least pull the head the check the valves and make sure.

Thanks Coastiejoe for your answer. Mike Brown better days are coming and I think I know how you feel. About 30 years ago my Luhrs threw a piston rod coming back from a day of fishing off Sandy Hook, New Jersey. That 318 was trash but a month later and a new used rebuilt motor...... all was good again.

A tech at Barney's said it was happening to 07's also.I should have asked if they were the same valve #'s.
A friend was doing warranty work in 09?,3.5 hrs for head exchange and 12 hrs for motor swap.haha
Mike ,cutting the drive shaft and a whole lot of other things? Bahahaha It sucks what happened but glad you found a decent shop not stepping on your toes.

Thanks... It's probably going to be done by late today or tomorrow... So hopefully I have it for a couple years with no motor issues!

nice! kinda wish I would've gone with the challenger. the sportster is a little small.

Man this thread scares me to hell. All this time I've been looking for a boat with low hours and then you got one and boom! I read these threads in hopes I will know all the issues to look for but it seems like every week there is a new issue. Can y'all confirm if the hollow/solid thing is fixed by '09? (current year of boat I am looking at). Sorry this happened to you but thank you for keeping us updated and for us that have very little idea about all the issues that can happen....

....do I still want a boat now? lol

Hahaha... Yeh, there was water getting into the motor which lead to corrosion which lead to boom! 2009 your good with the valves!

I have a new problem too... Some electrical issue... When the motor has high rpm's it just suddenly shuts off... Check engine light comes on and it just sputters and shuts off when restarted... Took it to Miami and they plugged it in and clear the code and boom started right up but as soon as I got it on the water, same thing happened

I got my Candoo a few days ago myself. One thing I will caution you on is, to disable your antivirus protection when installing the drivers and required software. My Kaspersky determined it was a virus and not only protected the computer, but rendered the Candoo useless. I did a system restore back a few days, turned off Kaspersky, then did the install. I also suggest turning it off when you use the Candoo as, if your computer can find a wireless connection when the Candoo is plugged in, it will look for a filmware and software update.

So for me, I simply turn it off if I want to use the Candoo and leave it off until I am done..

Thankfully I'm using it on my Mac through VMware Fusion... :) ... No issues

The documents that came with my Candoo say that you can not use a MAC or Apple IOS, that is must be a PC.

I don't know this to be a fact, only that I read it.

It is true... VMware Fusion is a software on the MAC... So I have both operating systems on MacBook :)
