blown motor ??

well the dealor im gonna buy from for 3 grand said it just had a blown engine....i will find out tommorw and give them a call...i have a 03 gtx that has a wreck hull that my buddy wrecked and barely lived. iwas gonna stick that engine in the rxp that i was fixen to buy but now i had the 03 gtx engine checked out that was in the wreck and it has water in the 3rd cylender for 2 years so no go im just gonna trash that and try to find a good deal on a rxp but would like to rebuild that engine this dealers trying to sell me

where you from? dont just trash the gtx. it the head good still on the gtx? and you looking to buy a 2006 motor?
 
yeah i need one but depends on the price im located in central texas can i use some parts to rebuild that rxp motor??or does somebody want some parts
 
Im thinkin around $2200 comes with everything but intake manifold or supercharger. Has PTO, starter, exhaust manifold and the coil packs. Motor has new head gasket, pto gasket, headbolts, rocker bolts. all the other part on the motor are original
 
alright well the dealor said that the people that owned it ran a chip on it and the pistons have holes in them....can i do it myself??? how much money for parts???? thanks
 
I smell something fishie. You cant put a chip on it, you can change the whole ecu with a rotax or riva one but there a $1000+. if you were to have one of these ecu's there would need to be alot of other work done to the ski to be able to run the ecu's. Sound like there mor of a story then what he's telling you. This is the RXP your talking about right? get him to send you a pic of the motor with the head off.

alright well i dont think there even gonna mess with it so if the pistons have holes in them its alot more work then me just havin to get a used rxp with a good motor?? yes its an rxp
 
Chip?....

I hear this often, about someone getting a chip for his engine. Like Sporsterjoel explains, it's just not some kind or "plug and play" device for your 4-TEC engine.

When you hear the term "chip", it's a reference to a "flashing" of the ECU to increase performance by changing the fuel delivery to the injectors. Kinda like the way you flash your BIOS in your computer.

If this caused damage to the cylinders, then something wasn't set up right or like Joel says, ............."something smells fishy"...........:cheers:
