99 GTX800 oil issue

Hi everyone;

I have just purchased a 1999 Seadoo GTX800 RFI.

On the clock it says it requires oil, however the oil is full. What could be causing this issue please?

There is a float of sorts in the oil tank. I've heard guy remove them wash the float with gas, let it dry out and reinstall it. I believe there is a test procedure in the service manual. It's only 2 wires and I think there is a certain resistance from empty to full. Some times the floats get stuck down and cleaning them can help.

There was a little bit of brute force used to pull the float sensor out. I did all of the above, but my float has had it I believe! (Ordered a new one)

To check that is definitely the issue. The connector that the sensor connects to, I tested by having it not connected (oil warning), then placed a wire in the connector touching both bits to cause a circuit (no oil warning).
