hi guys im new to the forum and pwc's all together. i bought this ski, 96 gtx with a 787 from a friend that had it sitting for a while. i got it home cleaned out the tank, carbs and fuel lines, put a new battery in it, rebuilt the starter, and replaced the spark plugs. i went to start it and it wouldnt start. i checked for spark and it didnt have any, started messing with the connections all around the ski and it fired up. i used a few times and it runs great. It sat for a few week and went to start it up to take it out again and no spark. let it sit for about an hour while i surfed online looking for a solution on what to do. went back after an hour crank it and it fired right up. i let it run for a while. turned it off and started it a few times and seemed to be good. got up in the morning to take it out and same problem again, no spark. im new to all this so any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks for your time guys.

Go in the electrical box (follow the spark plug wires, until you get to a little box) and check for corrosion in that box, clean it up.

i looked inside the box previously, i found no corrosion. One time when it wouldnt start i went to go mess with the connections like i had done before and i tapped the box in the front compartment with my hand and cranked it and it fired up. Could it possibly be that brain in the front compartment?

MPEM, i don't know. I'm not crazy with seadoo's like some people are.....but spray some WD-40 into your connections, it will displace all the water that is in them and provide a better connection. The WD-40 worked on my ski. Also, corrosion could be just on the connection side, so i would take that wire off the coil and look under it.
