94 spx fast then cut out

this just happend to me today. my 94 spx normaly runs great no problems. but today i would get going at higher speeds and then it would cut out. it doesnt cut off it just wont let me go any more. and then i got to wait for it to slow down to idle and then i could take off again. any suggestions as to whats wrong? please help!

does it cut out again, after idling, and bring her back up? If so, recheck the compression, and fuel system/carbs...
