i am looking for the harness i believe for the stator..it sits under the stator and is a 6 pin(3/3 stacked not 6 pins in a row)...mine it totally corroded and looking up under stator i can see exposed wire at that connector also so dont want to just repair the one side..does anyone know the part number or where i can find a new or used harness/connector??

Any help is much appreciated..ty

Stator connector.
Have you checked the resistance of the 3 pairs? They should all be the same.
Back to the connector.
I believe it is a type called “Metri-pac”. Many types on Amazon. You will need the special crimper, too.
If you have crumbled insulation, (as the old OEM units were known to do) you need to replace the stator. Amazon or eBay.

You will need a flywheel puller. About $40 on eBay.

i used a 2 jaw puller on flywheel, didn't need to buy specialty tool to remove it..
If your puller hooked under the outer edge of the ring gear, you need to very closely examine the main casting of the flywheel for cracks. That is why the Mercury puller only engages in the center of the casting.

when i put flywheel back on i did a stupid thing..yes i am an idiot..i hit it with a sledge hammer to seat it..looks like the magnets are broke in multiple places from smacking it.. I pulled it back off with the correct puller i now have...will these cracks cause it not to run?

i am asking bc after i smacked the flywheel after putting in new aftermarket trigger housing it started up and ran a minute, i checked for a second if it would go above 3400 rpm and it did but then it died and wont start now.

Wow. Nobody ever did that before.
Consider that flywheel as junk. Pretty sure magnets are not available as parts. Assembly balance thing.
Flywheels show up on eBay. Watch out for damaged/worn ring gear.

found one with bad splines, looks like the spline presses into flywheel, can i remove mine and press into another flywheel?

Pretty sure that spline and main casting are one piece.

Perhaps the spline could be cleaned up with small file?

I concur, new flywheel needed. I had to get a good-used flywheel for my 240 rebuild. Cross-reference the part number to see the other engines (some outboards) that used that same flywheel (and use the part # in fleabay search too).

i put new flywheel in and trigger housing..wont start...starter motor engaging..does it need re timed after flywheel replacement?
it has the keyway so i assumed it did not?
i have spark
