Was the torch used to remove the drive shaft from pto or to remove the pto ? Did u replace pto ? Where did u buy the parts ?

We used the torch to cut through the drive shaft as it was impossible to remove from the pto. It would have been best to use a cut off wheel instead. We then used the torch to heat up the pto to remove it. I replaced the drive shaft and the pto. Got a used drive shaft off ebay for $75 and bought a new flywheel from a local seadoo dealer for $135. I couldn't find a used pto on ebay.

Did you get yours all back together?

Mine is still in pieces, waiting for pay day,, I think I am going to pull the drive shaft from other side too and replace all the seals , also, looking at new impeller and wear rings, also looking at stereo amp speakers and Bimini. Might pull off all the stickers and get the whole boat wrapped, but that's all kinda long term, could have a near new boat for a total of 8 grand. I paid 5,000 for mine .. Sure beats a new one for 40,000. It's plenty fast, and a freakin blast to drive ...!!!!

You're about to spend a lot of money!! What's wrapping? Make sure when you replace the drive shaft and when you pull the other drive shaft that there are rubber bumpers on both ends of the shaft. Two Seadoo mechanics both said that was the reason for my shaft and pto stripping. I bought the bumpers for $4-5 each at the local Seadoo shop. When I finally got the pto off, there was no bumper on that end. I ran the boat all last summer so I really don't know how long it takes to strip the shaft without the bumper. I have no idea how long it went without one as I bought the boat last summer.

I'm learning as I go so I'll help out when I can. Oh, I must have hit something in the lake today because the paddlewheel for my speedometer broke. $40 online. I'll wait to see if one appears on ebay. Good luck with getting the boat back together. It's not all that difficult which I'm sure you already know.
