So a week ago I bought a running 1996 gsx. It ran on the trailer and he started it again in my driveway. I left for two days and when I returned it didn't start. I removed battery and threw on charger and still no start. I did the following since then

New battery fully charged
New spark plugs

I get two beeps from key
Engine cranks but will not start
Sometimes smoke will exit the exhaust as If starting
I poured gas directly into the cylinder but still no start

The only reason I have not checked for spark is that there is some gas in the bilge and I am afraid of lighting the gas and starting a fire. The gas is from the manual primer bulb previous owner installed it must be leaking but I have not been able to find the source of the leak

Any ideas?

I would remove the primer bulb. It is not needed and may be actually causing problems. Then once the bilge is clean, pull the plugs, ground the wires and crank it over to clear anything out in the motor. Then do a compression test to see where you are. Then put new plugs in and try again. Trimming the wires back may help as well.

If the primer bulb is leaking it will not draw fuel to the carbs
