New to Sea Doo's & Rotax motor.

Just purchased this XP along with and HX (and trailer). Both didn't run so got very cheap. XP has low compression; 95 front cylinder, 110 rear. QUestion - what is a good psi number? 150psi? These having run in 6 months per seller. I have spark. I sucked fuel up tank gas line to where I can now see gas in the glass filter deal prior to where line enters carb connection. So assuming the gas is pulled into the carbs, but don't know.

The choke mechanism was removed at some point and a little hand pump is in place with gas feed lines to top of carb. Previous owner says guy before him put those into ease starting as just need to pull pump knob a few time to squirt gas to carb. Well the pump deal does not do anything as gas the line is clear. Anyway, I have squirted starter fluid into spark plug holes and into carb throats. Still not trying to start. Is compression too low?

question - if there was gas in the carbs, is there an 'accelerator pump' (not sure if called this) that one can see squirting small amounts of gas into carb throat that one can see?

Any suggestions on what to check for next?

Engine is done if those compression numbers are correct. 150 psi is prefect and at 120 psi or less they will not typically even start in the water.

Depending on year, probably no accelerator pump.

What you have is a primer installed that don't last for more than a few years and are a bandaid for a poorly maintained set of carbs.

thanks - was thinking the psi is so low that it's not starting. it's in the garage, and just can't get it running....

lots of fun ahead.....

pistons/cylinder walls in bad shape. probably need to bore 1 over; lower rings stuck in piston grove. ugh
And once corrected, need to make sure oiler is pumping.
