T,

Any update? I'm now dealing with BRP myself as well because Smith is not honoring the warranty they agreed to on date of sale. BRP really needs to clean up its dealer base.

Craig

Yea after another Email to the higher ups I got a call back from the Service Executive Carlo Viola at 819-566-3035. And he had called JOA and told them to call me and set a time to get the boat and fix what needed fixed.:hurray::cheers:

If you PM me I'll give you the other BRP Emails I have.

Here we go again

I just got a phone call from BRP a Nancy Larsen that told me that Carlo Viola would not be handling my case anymore that she would. She didn't say why just that Carlo wouldn't be answering anymore E mails????????? :ack:

Tony,

You deserve a medal when all this is over. I havent endured half what you have and I'm ready to go postal on BRP!

Craig

im about 7 hrs from the seadoo factory. If i ever half to go through this with a new boat id be knocking on there door :boxing_smiley:

COME ON BRP give your heads a shake

Thanks

:cheers:Yea I'm thinking of sending a petitons out and seeing how many people I can get. To have BRP refund some of my money for the USED boat I bought. Lord know I could never sell it, Everybody know about all the issues I've had with it.:banghead:
I also wanted to say sorry to those of you that took my advise and visted Smith Power Sports in N.C to purchase a boat. If I had know then what I know now I would have not recommended them. And Craig can back me up.
Sorry that you've had some much trouble with them as well

Tony, Thank you too bro! You've helped me get in contact with the powers that be at BRP and they are working toward resolving my warranty policy issue. Dont know how it'll turn out yet but due to the contacts you suggested I got attention.

Nearly two months after the purchase I am still waiting on my Bimini top and under seat storage bin. As much as I'd like to recommend Smith I just cant either. The back ordered items wasnt the back breaker for me. The Warranty issue was it. I'm hopeful BRP will make in right in good faith.

Lemon laws

I used to live in North Carolina , ( Camp Lejeune to be specific ) and I know for a fact that the state has far reaching Lemon laws . Contact the state Motor Vehicle complaint commission and file a case . If you prove your case , The dealer will be forced to take the boat back and return your money. Then you can go back to Georgia or where ever you like and buy the boat again brand new and this time with your eyes wide open to the effects of a negligent dealer . and with the sales figures falling off , you might even get a better deal.

If that fails you can file in civil court for simple breach of contract . and assuming that everything you have posted is true and I have read all of these posts so I believe they ARE true . You will win.

:agree: Look into lemon laws. Brp SHOULD be on smiths case toget you a new boat but that isnt happening. I know both the state you live in and bought the boat in that there are lemon laws for all types of vehicles.

Guys, I cant speak for NC but here in Florida, the Lemon law doesnt cover cosmetic stuff.

Tony, refresh our memories. What remaining issues are outstanding on your boat?

Craig

Lemon

I check the states lemon laws here in Ga and they do not cover boats. They only cover cars and truck, not even motorcycles. Plus being that the dealer is the cause of most of the issues it not the manufacture, not to say that BRP shouldn't take care of what there dealers screw up. And So far they are making arrangements to do so. And after all the issues are taken care of I will be going to BRP for compensation as one BRP representative suggest that they might be able to do. They issues I have left are the Radio not working after the last service and the Glove box lid and hinge, along with the snaps on the carpet coming out of the floor and the straps on the new cushion not being long enough.:boxing_smiley:

New Dealer

JOA the new dealer was to come Tuesday to get the boat and as par for the course they emailed Tuesday afternoon and told me they couldn't come get, but they would be there Thrusday and they were. So they have it now, and Nancy from BRP emailed me and said that she spoke with someone in manufacturing plant and that they were building me a new glove box. So will see, I ask her to find out how long this was going to take as the water temp here is in the 50's so it won't be long now and we could at least take a ride.

Tony.

Really glad to hear JOA has your boat. Hopefully in a week or two you"ll be primed and ready for spring with your new Seadoo. I am hopeful come mid-summer you and I will look back at all this stuff and laugh.

Craig

Hope you get it all fixed up the way it should of been in the first place. I know ill have my boat in the water in a month. This weekend there calling for sun and high of 15c+ Looks like ill be doing some work on the boat this weekend so its all ready to go...

Update

Wow this new contact I have at BRP is great, she emails me everything and is really on top of things. They rushed a new glove box lid thought the plant in IL and it shipped today to JOA the new dealer. And It should only take them a couple days to fix that. We are just wanting on the new Radio as i was told that BRP doesn't stock those it had to come from ASAelectronics and it should already be on its way? :hurray::rofl:

Sorry to my Northern friends but I want it back now its been in or near 70 this week and I got the fever!!!!!:drool5:

Yippee! So glad it's being handled right for once. I was starting to wonder for my next boat if yamaha or bayliner might give better service :)

T,

Dude this is fantastic news! I'm so excited to hear a report after you return from a lake trip. You may actually have the boat by the weekend if JOA is on their game!!!!

Craig

Yea seems as the are on their game. But they would get the glove box unit today or tommorrow (thru or fri) but thats ok as long as its done right this time! Plus its going to be raining all weekend and and the fact that my honey do list is long (remodeling kitchen)

Well had to call BRP to find a update as I call and left a message with them last friday and I've been out of town so I called today. As of last Friday they had order the wrong glove box, they ordered and shipped a blue glove box and mine is red:rofl: PAR for the course. And other thatn she knew that it shipped. So I called JOA and talked to them and he said that he was waiting on the glove box lid and then say oh wait my parts mgr say we have it the red one and they are waiting on the radio, but he would have the seadoo tech start on it monday so let see if we can get it back by this weekend???
Wow this is really getting exhausting. :banghead::banghead:
