Sadly it does. Look at your old fuel lines. I think about half of the line says 8mm which is 5/16". The fuel selector knob is for sure 5/16" on all of them and half of the ones on the tank sender are 5/16" too. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news lol

I was wondering that myself, why in the world did they feel the need to change to 5/16 lines on the 99 whenever the 1/4 worked perfectly in the other 787 x4's??? Annoying

6mm and 8mm, the bulk of it is 8mm. I have lots of extra 6mm (1/4") for other projects I guess.

Man what a cherry!! Nice PU man!!

Agreed, very nice. That seat alone is amazing. I dont see one knick or tear.

Thanks guys.

As far as the roll over. I like the stickers on the gs hulls better. It makes more sense. The one on the spx basically means get it to shore a dump it that way so you don't get water down the carbs...or at least that is what it looks like. The gs ones look like it would be easier in the water, basically you want to pull it down so the water won't run into the carbs. I have just thought about printing off a "PULL DOWN ON THIS SIDE" decal and placing in on the bottom of the hull so if it were to ever flip, there would be no doubt how to do it!! Lol

My thinking was that the X$ is correct because you want the intake and carbs to drain out while you roll it back over. If you roll it the other way as in the GS instruction the water will flow right down the intake instead of drain out.

It actually has to do with the exhaust. If you roll it the wrong way the water will slosh right into the motor.

If the pipe is on the left of the motor it rolls clockwise, if it is on the right side (951s, rfi) it rolls counter clockwise.

Didnt even consider the exhaust, that makes sense. But as in the pictures on the previous page, why does the X4 roll one way and the GS hull the other, the exhaust is on the same side.

I was able to get the hood decal on, it turned out nice. Thanks CR for getting this one to me, it is darn near a perfect match to the original. Next is the reg numbers, just waiting for transport Canada to tell which numbers.

Thanks for asking CR
For the most part it has been running great, except for 2 issues that I am trying to iron out.

It bogs or hesitates on the initial snap of the throttle. Usually I have to feather the throttle to work it through the hesitation. After that it takes of like a scared rabbit. I did rebuild the carbs with mikuni kits and new needle and seats, along with redoing the rest of the fuel system. Started with setting the carbs to factory spec, but turned the LS out an extra half turn to try a cure a warm hard start issue and the hesitation. By turning the LS out the hard start issue was cured but it didn't help with the hesitation. Any suggestions on this issue would be great.

The other kink I have to work out is the bouncing or porpoising, I cant seem to get it to stop bouncing while driving in a straight line. Even with the trim all the way down it still has an annoying bounce to it. My jet pump internal fins or webbing had some damaged edges, I wonder if that would cause the problem?

All in all, I am happy with this X4, the fun factor of these things is second to none.

I put a set of R&D trim tabs on mine, and it rides soooo much smoother. So people say that it makes it porpoise more, but it doesn't. It has helped out immensely and makes it so much more fun to ride.

We are in the same boat, mine kinda sucks to restart hot, but no bog at all. I am looking at putting a set of 96 XP carbs on it and see if that makes it run better. I hate these accelerator pumps.

make sure your accelerator pump is squirting like it should. a lot of them clog up or a check valve doesn't do what its supposed to. also the jets need to squirt at 13psi, lower and you get too much fuel, higher and not enough.

I'll tell you this, John probably has more than the asking price into parts and labor at WCM into the engine rebuild. Johns parts are SPOTLESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He is a legit and honest guy, he was still in a cast from his accident when I bought the seat. Someone is going to get a great ski.

The funny thing is the 97 SPX making the same run in the same water beside the 99 doesn't porpoise at all. I might try adjusting the linkage on the trim to make it go to a lower setting.

I will double check the accelerator pump. If the issue is the acc pump then that is a potential lean condition I would assume. But when I pull the choke to try and make it go, the motor dies. Which made me think it is a too rich issue. I will check anyways just to be sure.

That is a beauty, my thing is that I am not big on modified skis.....love to ride them just hate the constant tuning. Besides, sounds like Racer scooped the best part, the hump seat.

Nah, I didn't get that hump seat. I got the gray one for my 96. John was back and forth on which one to get rid of if I remember correctly.

The tabs cure porpoising not cause it.

The seller speaks the truth....WCM is the best Seadoo shop. The tuning is done, time to enjoy.
