ya Craiglist Buffalo, which was nice, only 30 min away. I was on the phone with the guy within 1 hr of it being posted.

Honestly I have not run an X4 800 yet on the water, just picked up 2 this winter, so I cant say what the rpms should be, but I would imagine the same as the other 800's I have which is around 6800 at WOT

Ohhhh man... You better get ready... Nothing like mashing the throttle on an 800 powered x4!!!

I took another look at your pictures, that thing is like turning back the clock 15 years. The original traction mats aren't even wrinkled, I'd be nervous about getting the first scratch, it's like driving a new car off the showroom floor. It should probably be in the Seadoo museum, if there is one.

Ya know there are new USCG approved grey fuel lines that are ethanol proof, I think I would try to find just to keep it original, sorry I don't know the brand but I can check next time I go to the marina.

Lou

I think this is it, my old Merc. 2-stroke had it.

Doesn't even look like the RAVES have been removed yet. Paint looks fresh

It's so dang perfect!! I wonder why the hood deflector decal is the only one that is missing

Think they usually end up missing because they have been towed without a cover... Bugs and everything else hitting them... Not proven science or anything, just seem to be the first decal missing on any ski.... And probably the easiest to power wash away

Thanks for the kind comment, I like the idea of keeping the lines grey, definitely going to look into that. I first thought of getting HT but like you said that back mat doesnt looks good still, so I think I will just keep it as is for now.

There is a flaw though, the only scuff I could find anywhere, other then the bottom a bit from beaching it.

Honestly nothing has been touched, I thought someone messed with the fuel lines cause of the gear clamps, so I looked it up and the 99 had gear clamps on all the fuel lines except the ones directly attached to the carbs, those were the otiker clamps. Pulled the carbs off today and not a marked up screw on it.

Ohh buddy I am gonna ride this thing like I stole.........no question. I am very anal about my things, especially the new or minty ones. But there is no way in heck this thing is gonna sit in a barn just to look at.

The thing with boats/PWC is 90% of the "old look" comes from the sun. If you have the luxury to keep them inside when not in use along with a little extra caution while using it, they will stay brand new looking for a long time.
I have a 2004 bassboat that I bought brand new and still looks new, I use it a ton for fishing and watersports, other then the few weeks for holidays and on weekends it always stays inside, drys up, no sun etc.

Speaking of old... We rock a 1990 Chris craft. Never stored outside, never in salt water.

Brand new looking inside and out, planning to buff it this spring too...

Pics will come of the before and after.

Looking forward to it Sabr, I love those Chris Crafts, they are well made boats and worth looking after.

I have an 84 tide craft bass boat my dad bought new. Stored inside, still looks new! It's amazing what the sun can do

That looks great for an 84, I have seen boats 2 years old that dont look that good.

Not sure what I'll do with my Chris craft once I give in to one of these...

You can park the seadoo's on the sundeck. With one of those I think the Chris Craft will have to take a back seat.

Question; why does the X4 hulls get tipped back over counterclockwise and the GS hulls get tipped back over clockwise. I thought they had to go a certain way so the water could drain as it rolled back to the upright position.

Thanks for the tip Lou, I was able to hunt some down locally. Price was not too bad either......$2.59/ft. The color is almost identical, just the texture is a bit different, it's not a smooth as the original.

Sadly it does. Look at your old fuel lines. I think about half of the line says 8mm which is 5/16". The fuel selector knob is for sure 5/16" on all of them and half of the ones on the tank sender are 5/16" too. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news lol

I was wondering that myself, why in the world did they feel the need to change to 5/16 lines on the 99 whenever the 1/4 worked perfectly in the other 787 x4's??? Annoying
