Ok, here goes my story.
The sea doo I am going to tell you about is a 1999 gsx fuel injection and 131 hrs. I have owned this machine since 2001. So I have had it a long time. Always have run goodown. Never a problem with her. The machine has sat for 2 years here in michigan. The reason it has sat so long is that a bought a 2004 rxp last year and I am enjoying it a lot. So, this summer I get the gsx out of storage .
I clean her up,put fresh plugs in and a battery. Start her up in the driveway to make sure she runs and I'm off to the lake. Drop her in the water and start her up. So at idle she runs a little rough I give her a little gas to smooth her out. So I ran around the lake for about a hour and half while never turning her off. Ran strong at full throttle, top speed was good. So back to the launch again and at idle she was a little rough again. So now about 3 hours later I go out again . And again she runs rough at idle but I give her a little gas and all is good. Run for about 10mins (good throttle responce and top speed)and have to slow down for a no wake zone. Well this time at idle she runs real bad . Got to give her lots of throttle just to keep she from stalling.
We'll now she stops running. Try and try to start her. She will turn over but does not sound like she will start at all. So I get a tow back to the launch and let her sit for a hour on the trailer while I go for dinner. So after dinner I pull the plugs ( making sure on water got into the cylinders after the tow) . Still does not start on trailer after dinner. My buddy said let's check for compression, so I just happen to have the compression tester in the van . Here where it gets interesting.
Cylinder closest to the front has 30 lbs and the rear has 125 lbs. So I check the front again again and still 30 lbs. So I figured something bad happened inside the motor. So I put the plugs back in attach the plug wires. So for the he'll of it , I decide to try and start her. To my disbelief it starts. So I try it again and it starts again.
So I pull the plugs and have 120 lbs in the front and 125lbs in the rear. So like what the hell just happened. Was something stuck open. Any ideas? I have not done a water test since it started again.
