951 compression

I did a compression test on my 1998 xp limited and it was 120 on both cylinders. Is this okay? I can't seem to find any specs online. It runs great at wot, 60 mph at almost 7000 but it pops out of the back between 3000 and 4000 rmps. I have replaced the tempo fuel lines and rebuilt the carbs with mikuni kits. Spark plugs are black after taking it out a couple of times.

130 psi is perfect and at 110 it’s done. Yours at 120 and still pulling 7000 rpm I wouldn’t worry about it at all.

The rumble at 4000 rpm with steady throttle is perfectly normal and just resonance in the muffler.

So I'm trying to decide whether to keep this ski or sell it so I had the hours read. It has 152 hrs on it, runs great except for that popping at 3500 rpm and is in incredible condition. I have 2 newer skis so I only put about 6 hours on this one a year. I had a couple people look at it but they say it's time to rebuild it. What do you think, how long will it last?

It could last anywhere from the next ride to another 150 hours but assuming maintenance is kept up, proper oil is used, proper winterizing, I would think it should last somewhere around another 100 hours which with an average of 20 hours per season is another 5 years. They may be saying it needs a rebuild because they are used to tr other Seadoo engines 587’s through to 787’s which are due for a rebuild at 120 pounds but not the 951’s
