Ya Matt I did not take it seriously in 98. Sunk my Bullet HX in the lake. Got it back next day by a diver buddy. Then 4 months later lost it in the Ocean permanently. In my ATM X4 I used a triangle shapped kyak inflatable bladder in nose. 951x4 has a kids hoppity hop in front. I have injecting expandable foam in some areas on XPL.

my side cutter tool rips through the foam for perfect fit.

are these 42lbs injectors correct? Why are they shorter?

The green ones are the new ones? Not sure since I dont mess with 4tec at all. The black ones have a raised sealing o-ring ridge at different point than the greens. Dont think greens will fit/seal at all....

The green ones look like standard bosch 42 lb green injectors. I used to change these out alot on ford mustangs.

Got new lithium battery in .. net weight 4.1 lbs. Original was 18.4lbs. Huge weight savings for 300 bucks. And it fully charges in 10 mins. To hell with buying expensive engine parts. Diet for speed.

I did end up with some mods on engine to improve throttle response. Crazy how fast you can get $5k into an engine. Titanium valve train, 127et, injectors, light weight CBalancer, open loop Riva cooling and Fizzle intercooler. Going to spin a huge prop( 14-22) at 8k for durabilty.

thanks Krispy! Been fun , fast and furious. Multitasking so many mini projects within project. I Find if I work on each project of 12 about an one hr each, project keeps moving forward at a fast pace. I am constantly waiting on other people and vendors. I started side vent project today. This will be cool since we do much car stereo fiberglass work. Elegance is key on these previously ugly bulges.

Progess on fuel tank. Kid can weld! 12 gallons net, short of 16.9 gal original but plenty for our riding style. Aluminum tank comes in about 5lbs heavier than OEM , however buys alot more working room in engine compartment . BARELY barely removable to gain engine removal if necessary in future.

Are you going to be re-using the stock fuel pickup?

Krispy yes, utilizing complete stock fuel pickup and pump assembly from Wake Edtition. Gas gauge will even work.

What's the deal with charging the lithium batterys? Can a normal battery charger work safely?

Reason for question.....

Great question Mac. Was just surfing net on extensive discussions. These batteries have built in circuits to regulate charging control. Even has a test button on top to show battery condition. Obviously the stator has to charge it, thats fine. Battery tenders are authorized. Heavy duty burst chargers, or chargers that cycle " sulfate" mode which mode where charger cycles 15 to 16 volts occasionaly , are not good on a LFP battery and even fire hazardous. These batteries seem more sensitive to parasitic drain than lead acid or agm, however carry same CCA. Upside, besides diet, is they charge 70% in 7 mins, fully charge in 15 mins. They offer huge reduction in resting resistance thus reducing strain on stator. Hope that helps!

Yes I saw that poor Bullet. We have an old battery charger at work , f#!&ing Snap On piece of dont get me started, that runs 17 volt in charge mode. It seems to try and catch any battery on fire now. Reality is leaving an " overnight" charger on LFP is dumb and unecessary. Might as well leave an open flame on a cigarette all nite to light it. Sorry to rattle on, Car stereo shop owner for 25 years. Not just my job , its my hobby!

Crazy thing is that it fits fine in front, too much weight tho for an already nose heavy boat. Worked on fuel tank cradle today. Sucky job task. Got real sick came home.

great photo from Andy in London building xpl4tec. Some very nice internal body work. Set back motor about 8 inches more than my project.
