I found them on Ebay ordered a replacement starter for my 97 XP and got it two days later via UPS Ground. I'm in Pensacola, Fl. they're in Tn. Make sure you count the teeth on your starter... most every listing showed it needing a 9 tooth starter, but mine had 8. The replacement went in with no problems and it started like its supposed to. Has a 1 year no fault warranty and was very reasonably priced.
tear apart yours, and see if you can t find problem. think Ace has same brushes/or alternator/starter rebuild place will. Take an eraser and clean the armature, knofe out the "grooved lines", and try again.
