What would you like to see in the next SeaDoo PWC?

I just got a 2011 Seadoo Gtx 260 iS 2 weeks ago. And i think that seadoo should make a 2 seater version as the 3 seater is too big and bulky. But i must say the iBR is amazing!!

Haha yeah but i love the 3 seaters because in scotland its always wavy and the bigger 3 seater helps but yeah im trying to convince my dad to buy me an rxp-x :)

We need a depth gauge!

For those of us that like to go oyster hunting, or ride around bays/shoal areas, intercoastal waterways and other shallow places, a depth gauge would be very nice. Maybe the new ones already come with it, I'm not sure, but I sure wish my 92 GTS had one :)

I agree with the freinds threads

and just need to have the seedoo designers tho put the electric box in safe place instead of the bottom near the fuel tank .
I suffer from cleaning and replace connectors and wires always , salt water eats all things ...

thanx

I would LOVE to have more room for storage in the RXP X without making it too huge. There are a lot of empty spaces to use. Work your magic seadoo!

Here is what I would like to see, if not already available. I'm comparing my 96 GTX to my neighbors 96 GTI. His hood opens to expose the whole engine and gas tank. I can only see the engine in mine. PITA to remove tank. Also a lower rim which means a longer (deeper) hood cover to let us work in a bigger area around the engine without having rubber arms and skinny hands.
How about SeaDoo coming out with their own brand of lift to correspond to the weight of the machine. I'm having a heck of a time finding a lift w/ capacity of 700 lbs or more without going to a boat lift. GTX weights 575 + 15 gal of gas and some accessories = about 700 lbs. I'm finding double lifts w/ 1000lb capacity which means 500 for each side....NO GOOD for me. Any suggestions for me about lifts?....Thanks.

How about building a product with the sole purpose of GETTING wet... AGAIN.... I keep seeing the phrases "drier ride" and "more storage than ever".... Even the marketing has changed, there were once smiling faces with water going everywhere, now its just some showroom picture of a perfectly dry ski sitting on some artistic background. Its not what I want to see in a new Seadoo BRP should worry about, its what I can't see that I want to go away, weight. Please for the love of god find that extra 200 lbs and jettison it.
There is a reason the performance crowd keeps ruining perfectly good RXPs and RXTs by gutting them and shoving your (BRP) engines in other manufacturers hulls. (some so new it makes me cry, not really, but maybe a little sad) Also, dump the supercharger and go with a turbo, the engine's survive-ability would be much higher in the event of failure. Another reason to look at the performance crowd, they remove the superchargers and go turbo. Turbo power is much easier to manage, upgrade, and is mechanically superior for a PWC application. I've watched a video of an RXP, in a moddified class, be accused of cheating in the comments section, because he lapped 3rd place with a turbo setup. The thing had factory internals! Cheating, really? nope. (before the trolls come out, yes the ski had supporting fuel system and intercooler upgrades, and no, I don't care if a supercharger could be modded or upgraded in any fashion to produce similar power, its not the point) Four strokes are here to stay, I hear it all the time, but I will not change my riding style to accommodate a supercharger's clutch system.
I once drooled over the new performance models, but since 2009 they are all 65mph machines. If you can't offer the top speed PWC, what else can Seadoo BRP offer? Fun, try to find out if you have any left over from 2002. Maybe BRP has some NOS hiding on a dusty back warehouse shelf. (no fast and furious fanboy, I'm not talking about nitrous, it means New Old Stock to the parts department) I hope to someday make enough money to buy big stock in new fun, but untill then, I have to enjoy older model fun.
I'm not Seadoos target consumer by any means. I maintain my own skis. I buy used. I'm not even in the income bracket they shoot for. What I am though, is "that guy" in a small town of 4,000. "That guy" that "knows all about them wave runner thingies". Not only am I called upon frequently for advice on what to look for and buy, I also hear reviews and rumors about them. The other day I was asked about the Seadoo product by the town doctor's son. (owns his own private practice doc) He is one of the people Seadoo is trying to sell to, so are his friends and family. He liked the appearance of the products, quality of construction, ride, ect... Not five minutes into the conversation, he addmited he was scared of Seadoo's current reputation, due to 2 of his friends having supercharger failuers, and one with a "loss of power when you get on it". Luckily for Seadoo, he was asking me, a somewhat informed technical mind. I told him about the products improvements, how they did improve the design, and refine the maintenance schedule to prevent failure. I explained they had the idea of washers and bearings ass backwards. They figured it out, and corrected it. The bearings should have always been ceramic, and the washers should have always been steel. Where have I seen that before... Oh yea, my T3 Garrett turbos, that were designed before I was born. (no internal washers though :P) Mater of fact, with the exclusion of ball bearing units, that is pretty much the basic construction of all turbos.... Back to the story, I'm not the buyer, but I sell the products on weekly basis through experience and technical fact that I pass on to potential buyers. Good luck Seadoo, can't wait to buy a 2012 model, in 2022....... ;)
Ernest.

get rid of that damn dess key and security system. Use a regular type key and the old fashion lanyard. I will never buy another sea doo with this crap on it. I have 4 and hate the DESS.

It was the same for me I didn't liked the DESS. Well, I found all the electrival systems to be very complicated at first, but when you get the hang of it, it just works great. I wouldn't go back to the old lanyards. I guess people will always find stuff to complain about on there machines.

RE DESS: I agree the wiring and stuff for the dess is a mess to work with. How about a regular key that only fits your ski.....have about 5K or more patterns for each model.

How about a TOP HULL that swings up to give more to work on the engine. Have latches inside the hull and a rubber waterproof gasket around the edges.

I would like a 2 person machine with the 155 hp motor (NO supercharger). It would have a depth finder, clock, water temp., and speed on the instrument panel. The glove box would be insulated from the heat of the motor so my beverage would not get warm too fast. Easily adjustable in height handle bars. A boarding ladder. The throttle position/angle should be adjustable. And the sides of the foot wells on the seat side should be padded.

I would like to see
A ski built with more saltwater corrosion protection.(anodes etc.)97% of the earths water is saltwater.
A back to basics ski.Like they build a taxi.The option to have no speedo,depth sounder.trim gauge.55 tie up points.etc.
Some people may not want all the bells and whistles.A great motor(or motors) with a good choice of BASIC horsepower.
Delete the cost of graphics if it is wanted.
It all adds up to a good fast ski to do what you want with.

Hello: I love 2003 GTX supercharged couch, it is a little pricy but I sure like that couch feel all I need now is my remote..

The IBR is a piece of JUNK!!!!. You wait in a few years it will be scrapped just like the IS's will be scraped after 2012..

Must people like to complain on this thread it seems, but they don't justify why what they dislike is BS. Not very mature if you ask me. Also, must of the guys that complains have an old PWC (they probably don't earn enough money to get something else than an old piece of junk), and how can we know for sure that they tried newer models?

One thing to add to the great comments from govprof: I would really like to see some some cleats where I can put on ropes to dock the jet. The Sea-Doo option is to expensive and if you are on the jet it is very difficult to reach them. But it is great that Sea-Doo already listened a lot to you guys as lots of suggestions already made into the jetskis

Right Now I would love to see a Yamaha Motor in my RXT 260 Because I never had an issue with Yamaha! Still in shop and motor is on backorder! Remind you mine spun rod bearing at 45 minutes in FIRST RIDE!

My 2 cents: I specifically bought my 90's X4's because they are the lightest ski with the most power. Try jumping your new Seadoo Half-Ton out of the water, see how far you get. As far as having a luxurious and comfy ride, well, I thought that's what boats were for. Today's jet ski is nothing other than a small jet boat. And for me at least, it really isn't a money issue. I'd gladly assume payments on something that was LIGHT and fast.

IBR WILL BE THE STANDARD IN YEARS TO COME! Over the Easter break I had 2 boats cut across me at speed and the IBR saved my ass and the ease of docking and maneuvering is second to none!
