Hey, I got a question that I haven't seen posted yet. I changed my wear ring just like you see in all the instructions, after my old one got chewed up, the clearance was good and everything turned easy. I installed the pump assembly back in the ski (there were two shims on the bottom two studs originally when removed and I left them in place), and I tightened everything up. The problem I have now is the engine is hard to turn over both with the starter and by hand. I looked up the back of the pump and it looks like the whole pump assembly is warped slightly and the impeller is hitting the wear ring a little now on one side. When I loosen the 4 attach points up a little the engine is easy to turn again. I tried tightening up all of the attach points in increments and checking to see when the engine got hard to turn and right at the end everything gets tight. I am at a loss, I am using the same pump assy, with the same shims so nothing should really change. Any ideas?
