Anyways, when I picked up the boat at the marina today, my temp sensor was in... The 3 wire one. Very strange that this sensor was a solid piece of metal... No spring, so it required a bit of a custom install as the clip needed a couple SS washers to hold the sensor in tight and level. But sure enough, the gauge started to read a temperature!!! Woohoo.., another small victory today!
Good thing I got a temp gauge with a range of 60F to 200F, as normal operating temperature has the gauge just a smidge past the half way marker (no numbers on my gauge)... But if the gauge is properly calibrated, it runs about 125F... Which I think is normal for these engines!
