I read another post about jump stating a Seadoo and just want to make sure of something... I found a Seadoo for sale in my price range but the owner said it has been sitting for 2 years and it needs a new battery (was serviced and ran good before it sat). Can I safely jump start it with a car battery to see if it will start if I leave my car turned off and have the negative cable disconnected? Thanks for the help in advance..

Jump starting......

Yes, you can jump from your car. But if the battery in that ski is dead, you'll be best served to bring a multi meter with you and check the charging system of the ski.

You do not have to remove any cables on your car, just make sure it isn't running. With your jumper cables hooked up to that bad battery, check the charge, it should be in the neighborhood of 12 vdc. Then, if you can get it to run, make sure you check the battery again. DO NOT TAKE OFF YOUR BATTERY CABLES! If the battery in the ski is dead and the charging system is running, you can kill the motor trying to charge a battery that is completly depleted and you'll not be able to tell if the charging system works. Leave your battery connected till you finish testing it.
