Hey

We plan to buy 2000-2004 XP and rebuild the engine over this winter. We are doing this for two reasons one to learn more about these machines and secondly to get our second Sea Doo DUH. Anyways i will be working on this with my son who is 15 neither of us have had a ton of expierience with this kind of machine other than the normal sparkplugs and stuff. ARE we getting in way over are heads?? or is this a good winter project?? I found one that has a blown rear cylinder?? does this mean more work or less??

Do you have a seadoo shop manual? If not here’s an idea for you. You could join as a "premium member". As a premium member you can down load a authentic seadoo manual from the seadoo manual library. In the library is a variety of manuals for almost all years and models. You can view as many as you like on line as a PDF file, or download it and print it for your personal and private use. There are operator manuals and repair manuals for you to do your own repairs on your seadoo. The repair manuals have everything from troubleshooting, repair procedures to winterizing. It contains wire diagrams torque specs and pictures for disassemble and assemble instructions. In the spec sheets it tells everything needed to maintain oil changes, spark plug gaps, carburetor rebuilds and impeller wear ring tolerances. Click on the "Seadoo Manuals" link at the top of the page for more details. If you need any help or get in a jam, we are always here to answer your questions too. Premium members get priority when it comes to getting quick detailed answers.

NO we are going to join as a premium member as soon as we get the ski. do you think we could have it done by next summer?? that would be our goal.

a rebuilt engine for this ski is about 1000 to 1500 bucks. is the price for this ski that much lower than one that doesn't need an engine?

ok I was thinking $1000 for the ski or is that to much? and i was thinking of puuting a riva stage 1 kit in while i was at it.

$1000 for that model is fine. don't modify the engine. your kid's first ski? it already has too much power.

No its not his first ski he's rode moddified rx and 1996 spx models. now i know they are difficult to board and we are both pretty big my son is 6'2 250 he is a preety good rider will he have trouble with this ski he doesnt with the 96 spx.?????
