I have a liitle prob. When I try and start my boat it I'm getting too much gas pumped into the cylinders which isnt allowing the plugs to fire it causeing me to get what I think is vapor lock. I then have to pull the plugs and release the unused fuel. Does anyone know who I could fix this? I know Im getting plenty of spark, cause the boat does start every once in awhile. Thanks in advanced. This site is by far the best around

What kind of machine are you working on? I would think your needle valves are not closing thus flooding the engine. Maybe pull your carbs an clean them and check your pop off pressure.

You really need to post you model and year in your avatar so we can offer advise to cure the problem.

My boat is a 1996 Rinker Rocket. 120 merc. I took the carbs off last night. Here is the weird thing. When Im dropping the boat in. If im on a downside the boat floods, but if I get my back tires in enough the boat levels out and is able to start. The carbs were pretty dirty, looks like the previous owner left some old gas in, cause I have a little varnish type jelly in them. Hopefully I got it all. I will let you guys know

You still need to post your model and year in you avatar for future questions. Use mine as an example. At the top heading, click on user "CP", then go to "User Options", and "Edit Avatar". If you carbs are dirty they need to be cleaned.
