You always here it on the news but never know anyone involved.
It hits close to home when it happens to someone we know.

Losing a loved one is hard especially on a day that should of been a happy one to a senseless careless drunk driver.

My condolences and prayers goes out to you and your family.

Thank you very much to all for your thoughts and prayers. My niece was released from the hospital this morning and has been reunited with her 8 month old baby who miraculously survived the accident uninjured in her car seat. She is getting a great deal of support from family and friends. She still has the funeral to endure in the next few days which was delayed until her release from the hospital and then the process of rebuilding her life. Attached is a picture of what remains of their SUV to show just how horrific this crash was and again to show as a reminder to not drink and drive.

The stupid thing is that the at fault driver ..the damm drunk is usually uninjured in these type of accidents.
I hope he pays for this the rest of his life in one way or another.

In this case justice was instantly served. The drunk driver, a 46 year old woman, was declared DOA at the scene.

But you are right, I have a friend who's daughter was walking home from school about 4 years ago and was run down and killed by a drunk driver who had a history of multiple DUIs and was driving with a suspended license.
